HI, i’ve noticed something that slows down my workflow in Photoshop and wanted to see if anyone has a workaround or if this is just how the program works:
When using the Brush tool, you can quickly pick up a color from your canvas by holding down the Alt key (Option on Mac), which temporarily activates the Eyedropper tool. This makes it super easy to pick colors on the fly and keep painting without interruption.
However, when I switch to the Smudge tool, this shortcut doesn’t work. There’s no way to use the Eyedropper directly from the Smudge tool for picking a specific color on my image/canvas. I know you can enable the “Finger Painting” option in the Smudge tool settings, which uses your current foreground color to smudge. But if I want to smudge with a specific color from my image, I have to:
Switch to the Brush tool,
Use the Eyedropper (Alt/Option) to pick up the color,
Switch back to the Smudge tool,
Then finally smudge with the chosen color.
This back-and-forth interrupts the workflow a lot compared to the seamless experience with the Brush tool. Is there any way to use the Eyedropper directly with the Smudge tool, or is this just a limitation in Photoshop?
Hope that change that with an update.
