I want to make part-time pay doing photoshop freelance from home for people. I am acing this photoshop class. I have 100% on nearly every assignment except three: two assignments I couldn't turn in on time and one two part assignment where I got 80% and 85% respectively. But other than that I am basically getting 100% on literally everything in the class. This is a trade school class so I will probably continue to take graphic design classes but I want to make a little money aside from work and I need to know a credible way to use my photoshop skills for pay.

I don't want a work scam tho and that's my issue. Does anyone have advice for an amateur but very talented photoshop practitioner? Should I go through my entire graphic design trade first or can I start work this summer after I complete a class while I'm taking more classes? And how do I find non-scam work? Is it not possible just from the one class?

Success in a photoshop class comes down to understanding of the software and maybe design principles. Customers value your skills and artistic vision more than your qualifications.

They want you to make cool stuff, so keep refining your craft and making cool stuff.

You don't become a freelancer by knowing how to use a software
How do you deal with clients?
How about the taxes?
How do you set your rates? (That one is tough)
How do you manage clients expectations?
Have you ever drafted a contract?

You can be the best person at Photoshop (it takes years though) but if you can't run your business profitably, you'll be a broke "genius"
