#how do I get this highlight off the right side?

It's most probably a "screen" blending mode on the pink rectangle over the portrait
So typically the portrait. the blue rectangle both in normal blending mode, and then the pink rectangle in a blending mode like screen, or one in the same group.
@ionic sonnet I think they want to get rid of the glare on the right side…
I would try to sample the wanted colors, and select the general area you want to color replace, then fill and use lower opacity and darken blend modes. Or even the remove tool
Oh sorry, I haven't thought about that.
The way I do it when I have to do it is to create a masked curve generally set in Darken mode. But it's tedious, annoying and generally takes a llong tome to get t right
That or in this particular case, I think a Frequency separation workflow with painting colours on the low frequency layer could work very well, and would be more straightforward.
Of course I could give the advice to try to find a scanner instead if possible (Or re-shoot the whole thing witha two 45 degrees light set up) but if the OP is here, asking for recommendations, then it's probably because it's not possible. 🙂
I am sure I would give a generative fill a try first
