I found that having a proper curve (there is a "cylinder" wrap preset that works really well)
Regarding the texture, no filter per se, but it helps having a good paper texture to start with. You can create a repeat pattern of the texture and add it as a pattern overlay in the layer styles on top of your blank label. Then, when you place the logo, you'll have to play with the blend if sliders to let some of the texture appear through the "ink" of the logo.
Some people place textures on top of the text, but I find the intereaction with light better using blend if
