Does anyone know if it is possible to choose a default folder to export images created in Photoshop?

Not that I know of (for the quick exports) within Photoshop
It's either next to the original files in the same folder, or they ask everytime.

But if you're using Bridge and the export function, you can embed the destination folder within the preset
Look in this screenshot

for example I got Tiff to Desktop. You choose when you create the export preset where you will have the exported files.
