#Paste in multiple area

After about 10 years of Photoshop, I'm in a situation in which I don't know how to solve it.
Let's say for example I have this 4 pixels pattern (image 1), and I want to paste it in multiple selections like so (image 2).
Is there a way to do it ?
I already tried by making it a pattern (image 3), but my selections aren't always lined up with a 2 by 2 grids, so it doesn't work.
Is there a "multi paste in selection" in Photoshop ?

Is your pattern being dropped in at 100% scale?

strange workflow there,

  • let's look at it from a different angle.
    What's your end goal?

I have to copy a 2x2 pixels area and paste it at a bunch of places in another layer. But working with a pattern doesn't work as it can flip the colors

But if you've got to go to the effort of 'selecting' a 2x2 location, why not just spend that time just making more layers?

I don't have to "select" all the 2x2 new locations, I already have a mask for it. So my initial question is how to "paste" or "clone" a 2x2 area over all the new 2x2 areas

The images were only for demonstration as I'm not allowed to leak anything about the project I'm working on

ok.

I don't it's possible to do what you're trying to, since 'pixels' on the same layer with a pattern overlay the same global pattern,
If you ever feel like sharing more about the actual project, I can try and help further. - Good luck in the meantime though!

Hi, I would ask in the community forums, and tag thr discussion with action and scripting, the scripters out there might have a solution !
