I'm learning to use data-driven graphics in Photoshop to speed up processing of liveries for my league on iRacing, and I'm running into an issue with text. I'd like to avoid the complication of applying a dataset and then performing an action afterwards if possible, but when I rotate the text layer over the door area that needs to be tied to a variable, the text becomes misaligned. Is there a cause/fix for this?

could this be due to relatively low resolution you're working with? since it's a live text you can first try changing its antialiasing method. cycle through all the available and check if it's making any difference
try going with 'smooth', this one works quite well with angled text
I've been doing this since 2006...why didn't I think of that? LOL...both smooth and strong help. Not perfect but only a critic such as myself will notice
And yes: being limited to 2048x2048 is quite difficult
you could also rasterize/smart object the text and let default antialiasing do the job but since you want to use datasets this is probably not what you want
I'm curious if placing the text on a path would change anything
Yeah, I could but I'm trying to avoid that...applying a dataset is much more simple.
Despite my time in Photoshop I never really learned it; can you provide an explanation or link for placing text on a path?
Sadly (or as expected), it uses the same methods as regular text rotation so no point in doing so
Ahh...I even tried a text box but changing the smoothing is the best solution
