I have a kind of creepy situation in mind where the players will be able to discover that a small object is made out of bone (a whole bone, not just part of a bone). But it is just a single bone - in this case the leg bone of an infant. What skill would you use for them to determine this, and how difficult do you think it would be? This just being a single bone without a lot of other context.
#What skill/difficulty in 5E to determine type of bones?

I assume that anyone with proficiency in Medicine might gather that it is bone, and with a successful check determine the source.
Similarly, someone who has proficiency in woodcarver's tools may be knowledgable enough about sculpting to realize this isn't stone or wood.
Around DC 15 I reckon.
