Love the idea of a tavern serving drinks, but maybe it fits better in a larger scale sim than this - since you can have max about 15 settlers?
yeah, this is a micro manage game, not a macro. seems like it focuses more on a settlement rather then an entire kingdom
But with "events" on the horizon, and only backgammon as entertainment, plus some settlers with "Innkeeper" as their backstory ... I think a new room type of "tavern" could work. Maybe a "counter" type of furniture, and a + mood modifier if drinking there?
I'd also say that after building houses/chambers and workshops, you run out of improvements to make to your settlement at some point. So having new building types available mid- to end-game could work.
Maybe traders from other villages could rent rooms and that gives you money.
I support a tavern and assets befitting one.
A tavern could some sort of inn for travellers, you could attract more trade and get money this way
It would be so nice! Better than having the traders staying two days on foot around the trade post. Give them some special rooms and provide them food to stay in exchange of some gold!
Also I think you could hold events based off it. In autumn months there should be a beer fest like Ocktoberfest.
Seasonal events! Yes. (Could also apply to the religious events - midwinter/Christmas for example)
Oktoberfest= additional bonus for beer over wine, for example. 🍺
I feel like the great hall steal the purpose of the tavern
Tavern for peasants and great hall for nobility
Yeah, but for example we could add a time line for travelers and sellers. For example, all selleres at 18 pm go to have dinner and later to sleep instead of staying 24-48 h standing in the post.
the cortestan and tavern keeper backgrounds exist. I could see taverns being an interesting place to use and acquire gold coins. maybe use them internally to provide motivation and happiness bonuses to citizens. as you gain more, you start to create an economy beyond survival.
like this idea of having a new room for tavern. As mentioned before, having a bar station would fit in well considering the back stores and the brewing stations. I.e. Brewing room next to the tavern for selling (fictional) of beer.. i.e. the settlers would grab the beer/wine and sit at the bar station. This could be used as way of improving entertainment needs. Like sitting at backgammon.
Sounds good, because it is strange that travelers just come and wait for.. wait... wait.. and then they just go away. Tawern could change that a little bit : D
I may have to mod this in. Yeah... I think this will be my next room project.
Looking through some things, this will not be easy, but I really think I can pull this off.
There you go @zenith finch. The basics of a tavern, with a Tapper(bartender) and a celebration with entertainment and food can be seen in the modding channel. I just posted it.
I could also see the tavern being a great place to hold artistic events in the evenings with a musician role for the bards to do. It would count towards entertainment for all people in the tavern whether they are eating, working, or any other task.
Yes, and maybe the travelers could give them tips from a cheaper coin than the golden one. Maybe adding one from silver or iron, (copper is not in the game).
Iron coins would work.
Seems like a building with a Great Hall and chambers would make for a good inn.
Maybe in the future the Devs could give us events where someone comes to visit. Then maybe a games change so we can mark beds for visitors.
would be nice to be able to get iron/silver coins from visitors and melt those down into bars!
Could give your Bard some duties during work hours. During break times he bards in GH, during work hours he bards at the inn.
This could open up completable mini-missions like, slay 100 hares or make 200 Deer leathers; Reward posters
