Had this happen to me as well, was connected to a host and i couldn't see the SKS prebuild either. And when the host dropped the weapon it just exploded into parts. Reloaded and it worked after that, but its hit or miss sometimes. Also there is a bug where the client drops an item or weapon and cant pick it up again until the host does then you can pick it up.
