#Gameplay experience of avoiding this area

I have noticed during my play-throughs that I've been completely avoiding this area of the forest, and if I get a mission that takes me there, I will actually not accept that mission at all (lol).

Getting there without the second portal appearing at the fallen train bridge is a tough task on its own, and than there are more enemies to deal there, so it never felt worth it to go there, unless I was just out to explore for exploration' sake. By the time of the second portal at the train bridge appearing, I'm ignoring the area entirely and using the portals shortcut through the peninsula, train bridge and than straight to pechorsk outskirts and skipping that area entirely.

So yeah I thought it would be cool if there was a special incentive to go there, especially at the coast of the cool, because it seemed like a cool place to wind up in that I feel like you don't really go to unless you're making a point of wasting time instead of calculating your moves to avoid getting caught in the next tide.

Eh, imo theres plenty of incentive to go there already. The right side leading up to it and the area itself are probably the most loot-dense areas on the whole map, excluding the rec center

the east side of forest is harder than the west, but that fits well in progression. You get better equipped after finishing the west side missions and what not, so I think it's a smooth transition to start venturing to the east. Getting mission over there for the SP points and credit is imo good enough for me and i like the area.

If you do struggle with some of the fights, I can see how you would want to avoid it though. Rec centre forces you there due to top-pri progression, but I don't think necessarily all parts of a map needs to have a forced progression moment/reason to go there, have some part of the map just for you to explore at your own volition

there's 2 other portals to help you get there faster. one just south of the house across the river on the south side of the map, (more work) and one just east of the little pond where those two jeeps are SE of that anomaly circle in the east middle of the map. those will put you closer to that area. i use them for getting out there. then the nearest portals to the PO entrances take you a bit closer back to save some leg work. -if you dont have anything in your hands except a pistol, it's maybe a 3 minute sprint while catching your breath to return. I do miss the different shortcuts from itr1 to get around. feels like travel takes longer in itr2 as a result.

In previous versions, there was a TOP mission to explore there.
It's gone now, though.
There are several regular missions to explore there, and since I go there often, I don't really feel the need for it... Still, I think it would be nice to have a TOP mission to explore that area before heading out to the outskirts.
Like carrying the prototype anti-distortion headgear and going to install a prototype distortion sensor, or something like that.
