Every tide? My guy don't be afraid to dream bigger. The GREATEST time I had was when I was traveling through the forest after a tide and didn't run across enemies at a couple of the usual spawns, didn't think anything of it at the time and figured something went wrong with the spawn. Cleared the south bridge checkpoint, hauled my loot back to base and went to zone farther to setup to clear the sanitorium? and figured it would be easy since I already cleared most the way. Before I get to the collapsed bridge I run into what could ONLY be a group of mimic soldiers that spawned in MID-TIDE to surprise me before I get to even the first crossing, 200 yards from the entrance to the zone and I'm fighting a surprise group I wasn't even aware could even show up there. Spent the rest of my time on that save one eye open everywhere because what I THOUGH was the rules stopped applying once and almost got me killed.

So yea, random enemy spawns every tide would be nice, but having spawns mid-tide would definitely keep us on our toes. Technically it would be more a displaced spawn, not having units spawn in some locations only to spawn in random 'ambush' locations on rezoning or sleep, so the number stays the same that are supposed to spawn.

Yea, and even that is a step up from staticly located enemies. You know when you move to a POI about how many mobs you are about to encounter so you aren't surprised, moving between POIs is relatively safe so there isn't really a threat of danger until you get to new territory or a POI you are unfamiliar with. Just needs that little bit of random chaos you know?

It only happened the once, but that got me to pay attention just in case. The ambush was SO far away from the sanitorium and in an area I'd already cleared, if I didn't need to drop loot and restock before I set up to wait out the tide at a safehouse would they have been waiting for me on the return trip? That would surprise me less, because it would've been after tide and respawns. Like I said, a little random chaos would make the game feel better long term, even if its a separate setting, something like the wild wasteland perk in fallout.

Patrols already exist

Ive come across them many times

They tend to spawn at bridges and other chokepoints
