I noticed that there seems to be some issue related to lighting or a filter applied to the visuals. When snap turning at night I noticed that it would be brighter for a second, at first I thought it was just things catching up, but I was being still and intentional and noticed it would stay brighter until I moved my head.
The two pictures are immediately after turning, and it would look like that for a bit until after either purposefully moving, or just the normal shakeyness of standing moved the view enough to darken it until it looked like the second picture.
I would stand in place, and snap turn until I was facing a wholey new direction and then be able to see. I also noticed that at the edges it was a little brighter even during the day. I found that up and down movement of view caused the effect to darken faster than scanning left right. It is even slightly visible during day in that all greys darken to blacks and it looks over saturated/contrasted almost.
I questioned if it was related to foveated rendering and turned it up. It seemed to slightly affect it? It is possible that it was just turning light enough, but it does feel like at widest foveated it happened slower, but did still happen.
