🛠️ Description: I can't stop lagging the game was working fine before the beta update was added to the actually early access game and even on the lowest settings for both me steam vr and my itr I can't stop lagging I get 2 fps if im lucky normally its just constantly doing the steam hourglass timer thing and loading.
It's been like this for months and I've tried everything but no mater what I do it just doesn't work.
🛠️ Steps-to-reproduce: Launch the game on my pc
🛠️ Frequency: Always
🛠️ Using the quest 2
🛠️ Using Steam VR

What resolution are you using
-
check if it wasn't set to auto automatically as a few ppl had this issue
Yeah i had this issue and steamvr's global resolution was set to auto. the insane res steamvr chose was way too high for this game and it was eating up my available vram
changing it to 100% then adjusting resolution within the game itself solved it
- I would recommend leaving the in-game resolution to 100 and use the steamVR slider
i did it was fine
What resolution are you using and on what GPU?
90 in game and 100 for steam vr with lowest ingame settings and a 2080 ti
What's that in numbers?
That's just percentage
k 1 sec
No problem
I have an rtx 3060 ti and I use something like 2064x2064 and it runs good enough
mine's something like that
ik thats why im so confused
It runs body cam at 60 fps and games just as intensife if not more intensive than radius just fine
should I play with cord
I normaly do but i hvae good wifi so I could try wireless
Maybe it's a memory leak on vram
The game is not very optimized even tho I have what 4gb less than you?
You can try it
What is your CPU?
And RAM
ryzen 5 and 32gb of ddr4 ram
Ryzen 5 of what generation tho?
im honestly not sure
either way it should be able to run itr2
I could run it up untill the beta was added into the full game
and my friend who has a worse pc can run it just fine
I don't know how much vram the 2080 ti has but my 3070ti uses every scrap of vram it has to run this game at only 100% resolution with mostly medium settings
im runningn 90 res with low settings
try running the game in the quest open xr mode
how do i do that
go on the meta quest link app then settings, general, openxr runtime and select it. if that doesnt work go on your steam library then click on the game the on the game settings, properties, general, launch options and put in: -oculus. btw this only works if your connected with a cable to your pc
it has 11gb
i got a i7-7700k 16gb ram and a 1070 i can run the game fine on medium at like 70 steady
It Always depends on resolution and you are sure you're not using asw or ssw
What is asw or ssw
i play on 1080p native
Is like a frame gen
No you don't
wait
Your VR resolution is a different thing
does what displays on my monitor affect performance too?
Ssw is a feature set to on by difaul6in the oculus debug top
Asw is a feature of virtual desktop
i aint know frame gen for standalone was a thing
thats worse than 1080p righ
or am i tweaking
It's a little bit worse
But you don't use your native panel resolution
But a higher one
Usually it's 30% more
Which for you should be 1664x1872
It's very low for VR nowadays
It's not bad but still not good
Dragon is using a similar resolution as mine which is around 2064x2064 if not a lil bit higher
And the pixel count is ≈ 8520192
And the rift s + 30% is
6230016
That's almost 27% less resolution
what about a quest 2 i used one for pcvr too
1920x1832
The quest app 1.0 resolution is 3264x1648
Which is 1632x1648 per eye
All of the resolutions said before were per eye
To get a "pixel" count you multiply this by 2
wait so to see in 1080p it would have to be doubled because of 2 displays right?
no
You're still thinking in flat displays world
If you disconnect your monitor your VR would keep working
yeah
Your monitor resolution has nothing to do with VR resolution
does it affect performance tho?
1440p is just 2560x1440
per eye?
pixels by the pixels
Good
now can you add more pixels?
not more than it is nativley?
1920x1080
but isnt pixels also kinda quality?
Eee
Kinda
It's more ppi
Pixel per inch
And in VR we use ppd
Pixel per degrees
Degree*
The other the ppi the higher the resolution
Higher*
so i cant add pixels but i can add quality?
For example a 4k 27" monitor won't look the same as a 200" one
ok
Yes by upping the render resolution
For example
so thats the % shit
Yes
If you render a frame with 400x400 pixels
100 would be the 12 wtv it is per eye
And tour panel gas 100x100
It means that 4 pixels get merged into 1
Creating s higher resolution
so worse detail?
Higher
