tracer ammo is nice and all but the price currently is little high in-game atm for me to use atm. but tracer ammo tends to ruin guns much more and faster than that of non-tracer ammo irl and should have that as a downside instead of the higher price tag than that of non-tracer ammo or maybe a combo of both higher durability use and price.
#when durability gets added tracer ammo should use up more durability than non-tracer ammo instead

no? tracer ammo does in fact not damage a gun more than normal ammunition, if you have bad ammo or a worn barrel, yes, but normally the magnesium shouldnt ignite until the round has left the barrel which would cause the same wear as normal ammo
p+ or commonly known as "over pressure" ammo which was in the first game, does damage guns cause it overpressures the barrel past its intended use, and there is a good chance the ammo will come back
from what i was told tracer ammo can royally screw up a gun barrel if used too much
i just looked it up to try and confirm and from what i could find is tracer ammo can screw up a gun barrel if it isn't chrome lined but google is giving conflicting results on the subject so its hard to say if that's true or not going off of google searches
Since gun durability is not yet in the game, I'm not sure the game would need that. But I would totally be onboard balancing the ammo in this way, if there needs to be balancing done in the future.
