And what is your default openxr runtime set to

jolly roost
#

Runtime*

#

Default*

#

lol

quick pond
#

i tried openxr but idk if i did it right tbh. i just got it today and tried booting with it twice with same result

jolly roost
#

The openxr toolkit?

quick pond
#

yeah

jolly roost
# quick pond yeah

The openxr toolkit has been said to cause issues. Ensure it’s not running and if that doesn’t help you might possibly need to uninstall it

#

Just make sure in your headset, you make sure that steamlink is set as the default openxr runtime

quick pond
#

idk what steamlink is or any of that is really

#

i tried just booting the game raw like 5 times nad it all crashed my pc. now im downloading all this stuff because the game needs openxr apparently so idk what im doing

#

why cant i just launch the game like itr1 by just hitting play

jolly roost
#

And are you using steamlink wireless or quest link with steamvr

quick pond
#

ive tried opening steamvr before booting the game and opening the game before steamvr

#

im directly wired

#

no wireless vr

jolly roost
quick pond
#

what is questlink

#

i dont have a quest headsset if thats what thats for, i have an index

jolly roost
quick pond
#

i dont have an option to change the runtime, it just says steamvr

jolly roost
#

But it appears it’s already set to default

#

Do you have the openxr toolkit installed or running?

quick pond
#

yea

jolly roost
# quick pond yea

It’s been known to cause issues. Try to make sure it’s not running (double check with task manager), then try running the game again through steamvr on the headset

#

If that doesn’t work, attempt to uninstall openxr toolkit and try again

quick pond
#

is the openxr toolkit and openxr itself two seperate things?

jolly roost
#

It’s an external application

quick pond
#

so i probably dont have openxr then. i might only have the toolkit

jolly roost
quick pond
#

im so confused

#

what is openxr then. the blogpost says i need it

If it’s installed, ensure openxr toolkit isn’t running.

#

Via task manager

#

In some cases (as stated by the devs), openxr toolkit if installed on your computer may have to be uninstalled

quick pond
#

ok its not running in task manager

jolly roost
#

Try opening the game now (through you headset)

#

Aka just click play on the game through steamvr inside your headset

quick pond
#

i was having the crashing before i got openxr, i got it because i thought it might fix it

#

kk

#

Pc restarted again

quick pond
#

In the headset I see the splash screen for a split second then my pc restarts

#

Like it hard crashes my pc and starts a reboot

jolly roost
#

Shit, it’s your pc I’m assuming then

quick pond
#

It’s only itr2. Never had this issue with any game vr or not.

jolly roost
#

Once you get back on, try clicking the windows button and x, go to your terminal (admin) and run the command

sfc /scannow

#

Sounds sketchy but here

#

It will check for ANY corrupted files and repair them, but I have no clue why your pc restarted

#

After trying that try the previous steps

quick pond
#

Looks like it’s gonna be a minute

ah, another fellow BSOD survivor. glad im not the only one where ITR2 kills my PC

quick pond
#

I’m not even blue screening, my pc just goes black then starts reboot

quick pond
#

Still crashes

jolly roost
quick pond
#

but the game itself crashes on startup still

quick pond
#

does the same thing when trying to launch from within SteamVR

inner hollow
#

#
