Nothing you touch will disappear, including both Safehouse and the zone.

It's advisable to stay at green weight as much as possible. Bring in boxes of ammo, food, and healing, and stash them in the radius in places near where you will need them. Go into combat light and fast then go back to your stashes to restock before the next bit of combat. Only overload yourself when you're heading back to base to sell it.
