@visual thicket Well, they cant usually be found on lakes. Wooded streams and swamps are there prefered habitat. During winter, flooded timber with pen oak are a magnet.

So for camouflage, I took inspiration from many of the duck blinds and deer stands I’ve painted. Male has brighter head and neck with blue crest. Female tries harder at blending in.
