Hey everyone, I hope you're doing great!
I wanted to ask for an advice - I'm starting my journey with FPV drones and I found a really good deal online for a complete kit (+ some useful things) for a decent price (I think). Now I'm wondering whether this is a good idea to buy this? As I know I'll most likely spend the first few months on the sim.
The kit itself costs about 600 euro and contains:
- A tinywhoop (mobuli6, air65 (the frame was replaced), BetaFPV 0702SE 25000KV)
- Crux35 4S (pretty much new)
- Radiomaster Boxer (not crush 😕)
- Goggles Skyzone Cobra X V2 (I couldn't find much info about these online)
- Analog to digi converter for the goggles
- Like 15 different Li-Pos
- 2 Chargers (I also have some old, but good (or at least it was good) li-po charger from 15y ago, when I first got into RC stuff).
(I can dm pictures of the entire kit, if it's going to help) - Some additional parts, like propellers, not working 5-inch drone, second camera for the 5'', etc.
What I like about this kit is that it has a tinywhoop, which will allow me to get started much faster from what I understand (unlike a 5''). It has a RM Boxer which is nice, as my hands are on the bigger side. Also, the Crux35 is a nice upgrade from the tinywhoop, once I get the hang of the basics. I don't know if the goggles are good tho.
Now, my main concern is that I'll buy it, and the whole kit will be left to collect dust on the shelf for months while I'm training on the sim. I don't have that much time right now, but enough to practice on the sim a couple of hours every week.
I've been flying drones for more than 10 years Mostly DJI... Never something like this, so I'd rather stay on the safe side.
As opposed to buying this kit I considered just buying the RadioMaster Boxer/Pocket Crush and - only once I feel comfortable in the sim - getting my hands on a tinywhoop and some goggles.
What do you think? Any advice is welcome!
