There is a trick to powering these radios via the data USB port, due to how the bootloader mode is handled.

Notice: If anything breaks, that's on you. Just because it works with my RM Pocket, doesn't mean it's safe.
I would be wary of trying this with a radio with a high power TX module like a Boxer ELRS, unless the ELRS module has been disabled beforehand.

Pre-requisites:

  1. A radio like RM Pocket
  2. A PC that can run Betaflight Configurator (yes, really)
  3. A USB-C data cable that can transfer data between the PC and the Radio. (try an A-C cable if C-C doesn't work)
