no
just no
bad:
- radio protocol
- charger (gonna go boom and start fire)
- motors (probably)
good: - explodinglipo says the lipo is fine..... im suspicious
- stack is fine ig
- bubble wrap looks like it’ll make a nice popping sound
hope it’s still in the return window
lipo is fine not ideal but not bad
G+ batteries are good, just really heavy
either way, builds got a lot of problems
What's wrong with the flysky and the charger?
Flysky version you have pictured is older lower power and slower link.
Receivers are all very large, don't fit in modern small drones.
Common to find RX's that don't support failsafe (very dangerous thing to not have.)
It was modern ~10 years ago.
If you are gonna also be flying a ~10 year old video system or not wanting to go past very close clear line of sight it'll be OK.
If you wanna go behind a few trees, it'll probably leave you very dissapointed.
The charger is also a very old style, which that itself is not a bigge to me.
I still use some old chargers and it's fine.
However the B6 was one that was back in the day that was sooo popular that it spawned many knockoffs or fake reproductions of it.
Many of which were genuinely a fire hazard and there is many instances of B6 charger variants causing fires.
In the relatively short history of FPV drones. The B6 is pretty widely agreed to be the least safe charger, ever.
Again, cuz of the knockoffs mainly.
just return it and get elrs
and do a bit of research before buying
I'm fine with line of sight controller so if the charger is a risk should I do some test to make sure it's safe or not risk it
As long as you never ever even for 5 seconds.
Dont let the charger charge stuff unattended.
If you are in the room if it goes bad you'll be able to put out the fire and charge on a fireproof surface.
That's generally the reccomendation anyways and how you should charge.
But ppl get comfortable and leave stuff charging and go to the bathroom or get something from another room.
Normally its inadvisable and not wise but you get away with it.
With a B6 I would say that is a 100% steadfast never bend it rule.
As well as unplugging it from wall when not in use.
As well as I'd advise you to very closely monitor it then first few times you use to ensure its balancing correctly.
Skip to 6min in of this video and the whiteboard for a breakdown on what balance charging is and what you are looking for:
While I'm editing up the UHF RC series I thought I'd post this video showing a simple solution to getting an unbalanced lithium battery (lipo) to balance if one or more cells are significantly low.
The simple lead shown in this video makes it easy to charge the cells individually and the video explains why most cheap balance chargers have so mu...
is it all out of the return window? because if not, you should def return it. that gear you bought is gonna be more expensive and worse than the modern gear
Yeah, elrs is much better and still extremely cheap, the cheapest of the most popular radio links
Because of a bit of a deadline I'll just use what I got and thanks for the advice on how to use it. I'll keep this in mind if I ever mod it. One last question, what software do you recommend?
like for the drone? run betaflight
