#Final Check over Drone Build

also seriously considering using the o4 instead with budget goggles like the integra or n3
That's an extremely overkill FC and ESC combo, you do not need nearly that many amps and you don't need a H7
you can also consider 6s for something that heavy
do you have a radio?
Also those are 4s batteries, right?
yes to both
hmm ok, i remember being told that for 3.5" 6s was a lil overkill and would lower battery life. how would you choose between 4s and 6s
i mean, is there anything cheaper you'd recomend, i just wanted to be VERY sure that it wouldnt go boom
shouldn't lower battery life at all
oh ok so wait, what are pros and cons
same thing as with a 5" just to a lesser extent
if you have a heavy 3.5" build, it'll probably benefit from it
voltage sag + more power in full throttle
also wait to get the same weight battery wouldn't it have smallerh mAh?
so less battery life?
well yes less mAh, but you add two cells
oh wait im stupid nvm lol
so still the same amount of wh
ok wait so what are the downsides?
also i thought the H7 could be kinda cool if i oh wait also i completely forgot to update this. i was just gonna get the speedybee f405 stack
that seem better?
H7 would be neat if you ever want to run Ardu or something
if you are trying to keep low on weight, a setup with a 6s battery will end up heavier
also the 20x20 speedybee esc is known to be not that reliable
aah damn
i mean, any thoughts on what i should look at instead? i think it would be kinda nice if i could just buy a stack instead of individual fc and esc, but i dont really mind either way
not specifically really, often stacks that have AM32 feature a nicer FC as well
i mean, i doubt w/ a volador i'd be able to get under 250g without cutting some serious corners right
with a digital unit? it'd be tough
but very possible
even a grinderino
but yeah the moonlight kind of ruins that
lol
and im assuming the o4 would too
yeah same story
yea, it supposedly fits both of them fine
you mean the vtx, not the camera right
vtx yes
hmm, i mean im still kinda in between moonlight and o4
since i haven't bought goggles yet
also wasn't there some cool site for searching for stacks?
wait how do we feel about the GOKU F722 Pro Mini V2 45A AM32 Stack By Flywoo
should be okay
ok im considering these, like DAMN they're more expensive but do either seem good
i believe that esc on the right has some issues
oh no wait
thinking of the 30x30 one
that one's good
the sequre am32 stack is like 110
the h7 one
lol
i mean, i'd prob do that for just 10 dollars more
is this how much stacks usually cost? i think i was just really enticed by the speedybee f405 one since it was like $30
for each part i mean
speedybee and flywoo are VERY popular so they get to order the parts and pcbs at a much larger scale
and thus can make things SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper
but also at sacrifice of QC
hmm
im just thinking like... even if i blow a stack, as long as the 2nd one is fine then it'll be abt the same price
it's hard to blow a good stack
they'll last years if you don't encounter something unfortunate
i mean the f405
speedybee
idk, it's just def hard to spend $110 on a stack when there's one that would maybe work for $60
yup
no, but i would go for at least that flywoo stack personally
i literally can't find a single flywoo stack in stock
average fpv experience
lmao
i mean it looks like pyro doesnt even carry them and rdq only has the out of stock goku one
are there any other sites I shoudl check
The TBS Lucid flight stack is the latest in product engineering at TBS. Built for racing and freestyle applications and developed to cater to the needs of both seasoned pilots and enthusiastic newcomers. At the heart of the TBS Lucid flight stack is the latest generation AT32 microprocessors, and the innovative bracke
is this a crazy choice?
also why does wrekd now have a way to filter by in stock lol
or maybe thishttps://wrekd.com/products/mamba-f405-mini-mk2-f30-mini-30a-3-5s-esc-flight-controller-stack-20-20?_pos=64&_sid=88dba3e05&_ss=r&_fid=c32579a5c
also wait, if you dont think it'd die fast, then why isn't it ok?
ok sorry for sending so many links but this looks interesting too
ive had 2 of the mini escs die for no reason after a month of use
by no reason im talking i plugged in a battery and smoke came out
the speedybee ones?
wait so should i go with this stack
it looks cheap and isn’t speedybee
should i be worried about the ICM42688 gyro
and the motor plugs
yep
nope
theyre plugs for your reciever / gps / camera / whatever
no clue why they do that
id rather solder than crimp every single wire but o welp
oh so should i avoid it because of that or is that ok? i’ve heard sometimes that sort of stuff comes loose in a crash and can prevent turtle mode and returning but i might be wrong
i mean technically it can come loose yeah but its unlikely
you can also just solder it to the pads since it has both plugs and pads for everything
oh ok so this stack seems ok? and i’ll order it from newbeedrone?
yep itll be good for your purpose
and for batteries, i think i’d originally planned 850mAh on 4s, but if im gonna do 6s should i maybe do like 650mAh?
and then i could also use those to power the goggles L right?
mayhaps the GNB flower 650mah
or for the goggles should i just get like a 1.1 Ah 4s Lion or something
It's worth getting a big pack
ok
does 650mAh seem about right for 6s 3.5"
and that stack seems ok to you?
yes and yes
awesome! and does an 1100 mAh Li-on seem like about the right size for a big pack for goggles?
so maybe 1 goggle pack and like 4 drone packs
1100mAh sounds terrible for Li-ion cells
I have a 4s 21700 pack, I think 4200mAh
they make higher mAh cells now as well
i mean what would you recomend?
or maybe i should do 6s for the goggle battery?
also i should use xt30 right?
oh and i need different motors for 6s so no pretty RCINPOWer
oop nvm, just not on pyrodrone
looks like on pyro there's only the pink one in 4s kv
also do i need to buy seperate xt30 connectors or will something come with those
wait is that one? (for some reason they're all numbered but the numbers dont go anywhere)
this is the battery i planned on
GNB's newest battery line is their new 120/240C high output low weight batteries.Checkout all our 6S batteries and our GNB Battery collection! Specifications Capacity: 650mAh Discharge Rate: 120C Continuous Dimensions: 63mm x 30mm x 31mm (LxWxH) Discharge Lead: 85mm, XT30 Balance Lead: 40mm, JST-XH Weight: 100g (+/-
anyways, this is my new list
@sudden lagoon should i just buy xt30's just in case? or does the stack prob come with one
always good to have spares
does it look like the stack includes an xt30 or 60 tho
that's what im trying to figure out
or neither
it should say in the description
i looked but didn't see it
from messages up here
wait do is this the right battery for 3.5” 6s?
i was gonna get 4
@sudden lagoon this video is like basically addressing the exact question i had about the speedbee f405. instead of getting that flywoo stack do you think it'd be ok to get a speedybee fc and a foxeer esc and just pair them together since they have the same pinout
oh wait, it looks like you can only buy the speedybee fc as a stack
so is it stupid to wait till the speedybee fc dies and then replace it with a foxeer esc? or is it likely that other stuff will get damaged when it dies
you can buy them seperate: https://pyrodrone.com/products/speedybee-f405-v4-flight-controller-30x30mm
SpeedyBee F405 V4 FC uses the STM32F405 chip (better than F411), onboard 4-level battery life indicator, 4GB Blackbox SD card slot for your flight logs, 4 groups of LED strip pads, complete with a DJI plug for your digital quad, and built-in Bluetooth for wireless configuration on the SpeedyBee app. * The DJI Air Unit
oh ok, so u think that’s better than the flywoo goku mini stack?
thats a 30x30 tho
i don't know... the fc's great, but i heard some people were having problems with the ESC. i thought you were just wondering if they sold the fcs seperately
any charger yalls recommend for 4 and 6s?
also if the goggles L can take both should i power it with 6 or 4s or no advantage to either?
But why do that when the Flywoo is both a better FC and ESC?
and Foxeer only comes with BLHeli_32 unless you do a direct order off of their website
fair enough, i’d just assumed the foxeer esc would be better
does the ToolkitRC M7AC
seem like the right choice since i wanna charge xt30 and get a budget one
oh wait Hoya T6 is better right? since i already have a usb of charger (though it’s only 67 watts but i use it on my whoopstor)
i would avoid ac and toolkit
how come?
their power supplies are not known to be the most reliable
