pre-tin both the connector and the wires

and switch to a conical tip if you think that'll help with the contact area

i assume you didn't heat up the pad enough/the flux ran out before you did

since the solder didn't flow onto the pad but rather around the wire

did you pre-tin the pads?

if not you should for the motors pads, tin them first and make sure the solder flows over the pad nicely

for the red wire just add flux and heat the pad

a rate is technically an equation. one of the variables is you stick position, and the other variable that is solved for is the rotational speed of the quad, one rate for each of the 3 axis. the equation can be seen as a graph, that looks like this
