i wanted to test my motors before hooking
up any other components but the dont work.
when i pluged the drone in, the gyro was working and nothing seemed off. it was not overheating beeping or anything like that.
when i tested the motors in betaflight they were twitching like they wanted to move but couldn’t.

the clicking sound is produced by the motors

In betaflight have you selected bidreictional D shot and set the motor poles incorrectly?

thanks

what does this setting do?

It expects a certian motor construction, and is able to back read the EMF from the motor and to help it drive more accuratly.

The most simple way to test if that is the problem, for now just turn off bi directional D shot.

use regular d shot at 300 and try again

it works

to get bi directional working again just find out the motor pole value and then input it and u should be good.

With bidir dshot, ESCs report eRPM, not RPM.
BF needs to convert eRPM to RPM, for which it needs to know the pole count.
It's literally just a divisor
