I mostly fly around my house because I can’t be bothered driving to a public area and deal with the people. However there’s 2 big ass drains on either side of my house that have claimed my drone before. What sort of spots do you guys go to? How long are you willing to drive/travel to get to your spots?

It depends on the weather, how many fucks I give, the time of day, the size of quad, etc etc etc. So much goes into deciding where to go. I love trekking out to remote places but it's a bit of a slog sometimes so a lot of the time I go fly the slalom lines in the local park. There's also some stuff I didn't notice before in the park that I'm just dying to hit but the weather is too crap

I love flying inside old buildings. My old job was inside of a 100+ year old warehouse. it had brick walls and riveted iron beams, and was kind of aesthetically amazing.
Bandos were fun, but the end of Covid kind of saw the end of Bandos in this city.

Any tips for finding old buildings?

I don’t really think they exist here in Cali near LA

I have a favorite spot I always go to, It's like 5min away from my house, and it gets to a nice very light forest with both super high trees, tiny trees, holes in the forest to power loop etc, I know there are better ones around, but I can't be bothered to drive or walk 10min to go to them if I have a pretty good one right up the street

no chance of flying a 5" in a city like Vienna.

#

and for less populated places I would need a car to get there.

i record mostly moving stuff in an open area (promos for sports), but in terms of freestyling and what not, a good ol warehouse does the trick

#

its funny ‘cause i definitely crash less when freestyling than recording for sports lol

#

sent a 5” straight into the path of a football (🏈) once… rip

I didn’t know you’re allowed to crash when you’re filming events

most of the risky shots are done there, like flying within spitting distance of a flying ball

#

havent crashed at an actual game… yet

That’s pretty cool. Are you flying for your own school?

I just found a really nice spot in the next neighborhood from me. They have a big grassy area for me to crash in and tons of trees without leaves right now. It’s almost perfect except for the puddles that are waiting to claim my drone whenever I smack a tree

See I tried that

#

And during the summer I had a quad overheat and explode the esc

If it is done well, you should be able to go into water no issues

You can, simply have two quads, one for winter with C.C, one for summer when it's hot and dry without, and voila
