Budget? What type of flying? Where?
budget: under 1.2k, cinematic/ free fly, i’m from US
Outside?
yes
So do u know if u want to build it or buy a ready to fly drone
This site is my project to keep FPV info easily and more importantly quickly readable when needed. It's constantly getting updated, so expect new stuff (and maybe some bugs) to be added here and there
Btw
i want a ready made drone
Im not sure it will fit but do you know if you want to go digital or analog?
i’m not sure yet, which would u recommend ?
Well a dji system has hd quality but its pretty heavy kinda, but its expensive and im not sure if it will fit
And analog is cheaper
which one avata?
Nono, dji has a camera system that can be used with fpv drones seperately
So uh u need goggles but that depends on system
Alr so u can get a mobula 8 which is a whoop for outdoors. You can get a crux35 for a 3.5" drone which will be bigger and more poweful, then there is a 5" drone
yea i think 5” is what i’m looking for
ah yes was looking at that one
All fpv drones can be cinematic
this one correct?
oh yea i’m blind
Our best pre-built drone just got better! Another breakthrough in FPV visuals from DJI with our upgraded frame and electronics. A new standard of Bind-And-Fly drones that are simple to get started with but the durability and performance for enthusiasts. Welcome to the iFlight experience!
also someone recommend me this stuff
id say get skyzone cobra x v2
radiomaster boxer elrs
hota d6 pro
cnhl black 6s 1300mah
nazgul5 v2 or v3 analog 6s elrs
Well yes but that would be the analog version
Digital should fit into that budget i thibk
Might not
so then i’ll just go analog
seems easier
Breh, ok
But for digital its the same just not skyzone cobras but dji goggles 2 or v2 and hd 03 version of the nazgul5
Not sure how
Dji goggles 2 or v2
radiomaster boxer elrs
hota d6 pro
cnhl black 6s 1300mah
nazgul5 v2 or v3 HD 03 6s
i don’t want dji goggles that’s the thing
i haven’t heard good reviews about it
Lmao what
Yk that dji goggles are literally the best goggles u can get
Yeah
Lile getfpv or somethint idk. But i would double check my info plz
with? @cosmic lark
buying a drone that fits dji v2 goggles
DJI shit compatibility is beyond me
ok so ig help me find good goggles and drone
that works with boxerradio
if it's a boxer elrs, then all you need is a drone with an ELRS 2.4GHz receiver
and then pick a video system
as for what's good, wrong person to ask 😛
who should i ask
yo @tropic cosmos I heard you have good drone knowledge
oh yea i’ve seen his website
u could provide it yourself
or gain more with recent physical hands on experience
helppp meeeee 😭
I'm just gonna continue poking at u
I know it works on me
with what?
Ok, so as far as I know, the DJI v2 goggles will work with any DJI vtx. The o3 vtx is the newest one. The vtx is the thing the camera plugs into, it sends your video feed to your goggle.
You're looking for a drone with an o3 or a caddx vista. O3 coats more, but has better image quality. I fly the vista with the V2 goggles and think it's great.
finding a good drone and goggles that works with boxer radio elrs
I bought a josh bardwell bnf (bind and fly) as my first quad. He has made a ton of content about how to build/repair that specific quad. Cost me more up front, but made the initial repairs and troubleshooting easier.
ok ill watch his videos rn and see
nah i want like a actual good one
with cinematic and stuff
That's the kit. He's got a step by step walkthrough for assembly. That kit doesn't have a vtx. Either of these should work.

Integrating DJI's cutting-edge video transmission technology into a lightweight and compact body, the DJI O3 Air Unit features excellent video transmission quality with high definition and low latency - even at long distances.
Cinematic is 99% about the pilot, not the quad.
yeah
like 4k hd
stick a gopro onto it
That quad is on the expensive side. I'm recommending it cause it's well supported and you're gonna break it. So being able to fix it is nice.
You put a GoPro on top of the drone to capture high quality footage.
cuz 03 is the highest quality u will get
All of them.
They are drone specific, so they'll be shaped different depending on the quad.
The drone I linked has a set of 3d printed parts available for purchase including a GoPro mount.
nazgul comes with one
which one did u recommend again
nazgul5
that?
goggles have nothing to do with your radio
you can have any video system of your choice while also keeping the ELRS radio
alr so then any drone that supports elrs
Honestly, you're gonna need a bunch of practice before you'll be able to get anything useful off the GoPro. And you're less likely to break your GoPro if you begin flying without it.
i already do have practice
u can choose
with?
flying
on?
I started with a 5" freestyle drone. (Version 1 of the one I linked) I spent ~60 hours in the sim before my first flight. That gave me enough stick time to actually stay in the air when I flew. But I still crash a lot.
sim
Either of the drones suggested here will take a go pro, work with your radio, and support a dji vtx.
Even with a lot of sim time, expect to break it.
which did u send
that?
the kit
@tropic fern do i need to build it?
good for cinematic only any freestyle and its dookie
nazgul
https://shop.iflight.com/Evoque-F5-V2-6S-HD-Pro1883 what ab this
what
That quad should be available as a bnf (bind and fly) as well.
idk tbh
they are both good
But might be out of stock. At least, I didn't immediately find one with a quick Google.
You won't be able to tell the difference between these if this is your first quad.
i think ima go with this
yup i did
and for that do i need a mini gopro or is the big one fine?
I'm at the end of my second season flying a 5" and am just starting to know enough to have opinions about how a frame performs/what I want out of it.
mini?
yea there is a mini go pro
It should take any action camera. Go pro hero or session should work fine.
link?
what ab 12 lol
I think they're talking about the session.
oh
what?
Huh?
go pro 12
Yup. Go pro 12 will work.
hero 12?
he said any gopro will work ffs
yea but im getting this as a birthday gift
i would get like. a 7 or 8
so im not paying for any of this
breh
Honestly though, I'd spend whatever the budget is on more batteries and spare parts. Go pro can come later. But im mostly into fpv cause I like flying.
marketing gimmick and possible a bit lighter
im guessing
alr so im going with two 7s
It's stripped down from the factory. Which means it's lighter and less durable.
oh alr
oh wait
i still need goggles 💀
yeah
which do i get
You might also consider a soldering iron and a set of tools.
I like the DJI v2 goggles.
already have
wait question sparkles
They're no longer in production. So you'll probably need to buy them used. But any DJI goggle should work.
is this a camera?
yes but difference one
Yes. That's your fpv camera. It plugs into your vtx which sends a wireless signal to your goggles.
its for goggles
It's low latency/high frame rate. Good for flying, less good for filmmaking.
i think i should just keep that for now and buy the gopro myself
cause their buying the drone and goggles
I agree.
The o3 camera is the best one available right now.
I've gotta run for now. Good luck on your quest. The learning curve is steep at first, but it's worth it.
okay, btw is dronenerds.com trusted?
ok thanks for all the help!
Getfp or pyro drone or race day quads are the 3 Ive ordered from. Dunno bout the rest.
ok thx
@dim hill u still here?
yep
1 question
ye
The HD VTX ushered in a new upgrade, and the brand new VTX of DJI O3 air unit pushed the digital system to a new level. The GEPRC team is also upgrading and optimizing the overall performance based on MARK5. At the same time, it will be equipped with DJI O3 air unit to design the new MARK5 O3 version. The newly upgrade
the same thing as this https://geprc.com/product/geprc-mark5-hd-o3-freestyle-fpv-drone-green/?attribute_power-version=6S&attribute_receiver-option=ELRS+2.4G
just different color right?
i would get the 6s
ok
