personally id sand it down but i also accidentally shorted an esc by putting it in wrong 💀
im not 100% sure but that looks very not normal
put some current through it and check it with a multimeter
I should already own a multimeter, but I think I'll pick one up tomorrow to check
cant u just use a smoke stopper and see if anything happens
Running a continuity test with a multimeter would be better
For a few reasons, one, to use a smoke stopper they'd have to solder on a lead, and that might mess with returning
Two, smoke stoppers still allow some current through before it pops, so something may break, it's much less likely, but a continuity test will be perfectly fine
Three it's just easier
if the product is defective, and the consumer finds that out after they test it, they still should be able to give it back even if its used
i think ur confusing the smoke stopper with the thing with a lightbulb
smoke stopper usually almost never lets any current to run
its so hard to damage a drone using a smoke stopper
tbh if it's shorted then surely it will do more than 1A that a smokestopper detects iirc
and no voltage across the actual electronics
since it's shorted
I mean an actual smoke stopper
Mine has a trip time of 15ns
not this?
Most definitely not that
Yes this
@livid fox
"I should already own a multimeter, but I think I'll pick one up tomorrow to check"
Oh well
Doesn't really matter I guess
I do still think continuity would be faster
anyways if the battery pads are actually shorted it shouldn't cause any damage to the actual ESC circuit
Oh
Yeah that to
Didn't think about that
Lol
Just goes through the battery pads
if we are using a smoke stopper?
or even without it
even without
yea well it still might cause damage to you as a person
or ur battery
honestly just
sandpaper
I recommend the Vifly Shortsaver 2
cause they might not want to return it
i bought the iflight one
no idea if its good
hopefully i dont have to find out
i can recommend any lab bench power supply with a current limit (:
I also have the iFlight smoke stopper, but yeah I don't really want to start messing with it too much in case I can't return it afterwards
no multimeter?
Hopefully be able to pick up a multimeter today
Multimeter acquired! It passes the continuity test
