Getting bad (relatively) range with my Caddx Vista/Goggles V2 (not the new ones).
Vista has a LHCP Foxeer Lollipop antenna
Goggles V2 have stock antennas (iirc those are Linear polarized and the signal loss should be max -3dB)

Basically starting to get bitrate drops to 15-30mbit down from 50 at as little as about 1.5-1.7km on 1000mW setting, pretty much almost the same range as the stock antenna that came with the Vista module.

Any clue why this might be the case? Saw videos of people range testing the system and getting about 8-10km+ on stock antennas at 1200mW.

Both the goggles and the VTX have the naco/naco_pwr unlock done obviously, neither was ever powered up without the antenna attached.

i've never range tested with stock antennas, but I've watched the tests and the bitrate goes to shit pretty quickly even if they were able to make it out to 10km.
Invest in a set of patches for the goggles, it will make a world of difference 👍

Yeah I already ordered a set of HD Crystals with stubbies, just didn't expect stock antennas to be so low range despite all the stock tests I've seen. I expected at least 3-4km without any significant drops in bitrate tbh

hows your antenna mounted?

not your issue definitely

there's not that much space in the back there between the Vista module and the antenna mount so the remaining few cm of the antenna wire are curled up in that little space, could that be causing any issues?

that's the 5.8 Ghz antenna curving. The colored wires are the GPS module and the antenna wire in the background is the 2.4Ghz antenna

@mint mulch it definitely will although your range on stocks should've been better.

@mint mulch usually it's interference. Or the antennas. A bud had same issues. Swapped all antenna's out and is fine. Patch and mew stubbies
