We try to improve the governance process each quarter to try to make it more useful for HBOT holders and Hummingbot users alike.
Recently, we're seeing higher interest from both CEX and DEXs to get their connectors merged into the Hummingbot codebase. As the exchange landscape matures, we are seeing increasing standardization of 3 types: CLOB spot, CLOB perp, AMM (both V2 and V3)
However, the current Hummingbot governance system asks users to allocate HBOT maintenance budget across these types of connectors:
- CEX
- DEX
- Chain
Practically, this has meant that the funds in the CEX connector pots have been used heavily, while very little of the Chain connector pots have bee used.
I propose that starting in Epoch 10, the Foundation classifies exchange connectors using the following types:
- CLOB (spot)
- CLOB (perp)
- AMM
I think this would better align the interests of HBOT voters with the maintenance work that is needed. WDYT?
