Can someone help me get modengine2 to work with elden ring? convergence mod

I've spent countless hours trying to get modengine 2, specifically convergence mod to run on my elden ring installation, and nothing works. Every time i click the bat file it flashes and nothing happens, more recently it now pops up with "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000279)"

Things I've tried so far:

Installing through vortex (mistake I know)

Installing with the installer
Installing Manually
Restarting pc

putting elden ring exe into modengine folder

putting modengine directory same as eldenring,exe

restarted pc, re-installed the game and everything else

installed mod engine seperately and then tried with another light mod

tried launching with modengine exe

Removed all my save files

possible culprits?

I did have a pirated version of the game several months ago,
I used nucleus coop (which i now removed ) to play split screen before

forgot to add the config file

i renamed elden ring.exe to start protedted game and it got rid of the unable to start error, now i get this

i changed all exe files (modengine launcher, eldenring.exe, start protected game) to launch as admin under the compatibility tab settings, no i get this? can it be something to do with my computer permissions?

your install looks clean but I would still try a 100% clean reinstall

delete the entire elden ring game folder

install game on steam

and set everything to NOT run as admin

if it still doesn't work after that then I'm inclined to say you have something borked at the windows level

you could try installing convergence through me3 instead

will take a bit of config though

i think it might be something to do with the permissions on my pc, just trying to configure some things to do with folder access now.

Unfortunately I have tried a full clean re-install 🙁

I'll try and change stuff to not be admin though, i changed C drive permissions and re installed convergence so i guess its worth a try
