#DSMapStudio doesn't highlight modified params

So basically I'm trying to build my own custom mod setup for Dark Souls 2 Scholar, and I was thinking about using "Load Loose Params" mod to simplify things a bit for me. So I tried to use DSMapStudio to merge a couple of mods I'm interested in, to extract the modified params and merge them without having to use modengine basically. Thing is that when I open the enc_regulation.bnd.dcx file, the modified params don't get highlighted in green, as usually happens (and I know for sure I'm using a modified file). Does anyone know how to solve this issue? (If it's an issue, that is)

don't use game directory as your mod folder

#

that's the folder mapstudio is expecting to find vanilla params to compare with

That's the point, I created a folder on the desktop for the mod, and created the DSMapStudio project inside that folder

hmm, so you're sure the vanilla directory is unmodified?

I unpacked it with UXM 🤔

pain

crimson glen

well, I need it to be unpacked anyways 😅 now I'm trying to reinstall the game, I want to see if using DSMapStudio before using UXM maybe works

what happens if you make a new project?

it opens like normal, but all params are grey, as if they were vanilla

sick forge
#

well ye cus nothing changed yet

crimson glen
#

but I know for sure they're not, since I'm trying to modify a modded file to extract the params from

no I'm saying make a new project

'kay, but first I need to unpack it seems, strangely enough it's a requirement for DS2, otherwise DSMS won't even let me open the project xD

ok, now it works, it seems 😂
