Instead of outfit hair, can instead have outfit hair extensions?

I personally find that if outfit has locked hair headpiece, it kinda goes not worth it. Would it be better if it was hair extensions? Like keep the front but add a long pony tail or twin braids. Hide some of the harder to merge parts with scrunchies or other hair ornaments
