This is why I always convert .mcpack to .zip with MConverter to check for malware to then delete it if I do see it and then convert it back to an mcpack. I heard iShowSpeed once downloaded something called Geometry Dash Auto Speedhack and ran it. Apparently he ran very old malware or something because instead of it silently stealing his stuff and stuff like that it actually set the boot logo on his PC to a Nyan Cat and filled the BIOS with so much garbage that after crashing and rebooting to the Nyan Cat screen it showed an animated Nyan Cat boot logo before frying his entire gaming PC. Since then he has been using his $3000 steaming PC for gaming instead of his $3000 fried gaming PC. Yeah malware can be scary. And that's why I use Bitdefender, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0. My Secure Boot version is a bit outdated so my system is prone to Logofail but I've been really careful. I even occasionally check each frame of my boot logo with a hexidecimal extractor just to make sure. By the way, apparently that preinstalled app on my system called cloudorsky.exe was malware, although before checking I thought it was just bloatware. TLDR: Malware is bad, so frequently check your system, use an antirirus, and check your files.

The first two on that list are most dire, they were introduced mid-2025, have accumulated tens of votes and we're yet to see a fix from Mojang.
Those two in particular have made me distance myself from the game a bit, I can't go back to playing with anything less than ray tracing and at the same time, these two issues make it painful to do so.
The community has lovingly carried the feature through mods such as BetterRTX and not long ago my own Vanilla RTX App which made the feature accessible again to the average user.
Because it was in no way acceptable for users to be forced to perform a unholy ritual just to get it working (assuming they manage to find the ritual instructions by any chance)
If someone at Mojang is seeing this, this is a quiet plea to give this feature a fraction of the love the community has.
If only the first two issues are resolved one day, through what the community has already built, this feature can be enjoyed to its fullest once again.

nope. the best you can do is make the fog relatively thin then make the sun much brighter during sunrise/sunset so it gets illuminated more but you cant do too much. is there any reason you wouldnt want volumetric lighting during the day?

Looks like textures for entity tint and multitexture as well as end sky, sun/moon and weather materials were not gamma corrected at all (just the "forward" or transparent versions tho, "opaque" versions were not changed)
For some reason they didn't mention entity materials, despite them also being changed

I made moon and sun have smooth light comming from them. It requires higher resolution tho
Default sun and moon textures aren't bad tho, but I hate some things about them.
First of all, it makes pixelated light comming from them. Second of all, sun has ugly outline near it. And, moon also looks strange.
Like, I can show you this screenshot agaon. You can see that the light on its texture is smoother.

- Try changing graphics mode in settings.txt
- Try joining marketplace rtx world
- Try turning on resource pack directly in the world.
- Keep trying turning rtx on.
When you manage to turn it one, it will always work fine.
Also try changing between graphics modes.

Because Interstellar runs and looks amazing, but Infectious always BSODs when I try to install it
I don't even know what the Infectious preset looks like because I can't even use it
It just BSODs a few times and sends me to the Recovery Screen for automatic repair, before finding nothing and letting me proceed to use Windows like normal again
Once again, every other preset works, but not Infectious
Interstellar is still very good though

Because at first it was just the Infectious preset that never worked, but now none of your presets work
And after uninstalling your presets, my game's UI is still half bugged but at least it works
