Anyone check out VV in this Preview? With the renderer config files getting updated for max shadow frustrum.
Not sure if it does anything in RD, but there is now indeed a new uniform (i.e. variable) with that name in entity shaders. It's most likely for VV, but maybe it does something in Fancy as well, I'll have to check shader source code to now for sure.

NewSettingsScreen) and then add:1after it to enable it. - Before launching the game turn off your internet.
- Launch the game and the things you wanted to enable should be enabled.
Note that if you turn on internet again and launch the game the tags u added get reset.

I finally managed to fix that bug in my custom slab that was bothering me.

I really hope we see some improvements to BDS soon (in the coming months or at least this year)... Main thing I'd like is just to be able to enable experiments without having to move it from BDS to Local Worlds, enabling the experiments and then moving it back to BDS. It's such a tedious task just to use the Script API.
Another one would be that packs do not work whether they are in the development folders or not unless you specifically add the UUID and Version to the worlds world_behavior_packs.json and world_resource_packs.json files.
Just small improvements would make development on BDS a whole lot nicer and smoother for everyone and I'm sure there's plenty more features that would help improvement gameplay and development.
It also just seems like some commands are missing from being hidden in the commands.json file. Same goes for some commands working no matter what like the /help command. Hidden or not, it will always run even if it's set to "internal".

Was this intentional? We can't use minecraft:support in permutations, but this wasn't mentioned anywhere, neither in the changelog nor in the official documentation; it's only mentioned in the game itself when you try to use it.

With how the component is currently designed, why would you need it to exist in permutations?
Permutations are typically used to create different visuals depending on the state. For example, if you have a block that changes its appearance depending on the circumstances, it might be useful to use multiple permutations. This is also helpful for slabs that use double states, like in Java, instead of a separate block.
But if this is truly intentional and there's no possibility of change, that's fine. I just think it would be better if they encouraged us to use permutation for slabs instead of separate blocks, just like in Java.
Given how the vertical half state is set up it would be better to have separate block types on bedrock, but we'd need to be able to control pick block and still touch to do that
I think they should simply make vanilla blocks data driven, bit by bit.
It would ensure all needed functionality is present. It would provide a canonical model for custom content. It would fix all these random discrepancies that somehow exist between custom and vanilla block behavior. It would make very clear what parts of the process are cumbersome and need to be more ergonomic.

I discovered another problem that would occur if you used separate blocks for the slab; in vanilla Minecraft you can't use /give block double_slab, but you can use /setblock oak_double_slab, for example. If you disable the use of commands in the custom block, it becomes inaccessible in /give, but it also becomes inaccessible in /setblock.
Does that also happen if you replace the block item, preventing it from be accessed in commands, but allowing the block to be used in commands

Even if you disable visibility on the item and enable it in the block, it still appears in /give.
So using two separate blocks for the slab only brings two inconsistencies with vanilla: the pick block which doesn't give a single slab, and the commands where the double slab is accessible in /setblock but not in /give. The rest seems entirely possible to recreate by using the stair shape; in the slab, you make it accept blocks like a vanilla slab.
A test and it really does look like vanilla; the purple is what I use in different blocks.
I almost forgot, if you use separate blocks you'll also have problems with silk touch because that's hardcoded.
God, it's amazing how many messages we get per Preview. I hadn't paid attention to it in a while.
I just realized that the "stair" support shape works perfectly for slabs and most anything that shouldn't provide support, like buttons and pressure plates.

But pressure plates can be placed on fences, only buttons that cannot.

I didn't quite understand, did you mean that the only missing feature is the pick block for double slabs? Well, the silk touch is also missing; currently, the silk touch drops the broken block ignoring the loot, while vanilla double slabs drop two single slabs and not the double block itself.
Not to mention the feature in the command I mentioned above where vanilla double slabs appear in /setblock and not in /give.
Well, at least we can work around that in scripting.

Block opacity - Allows creators to define if light can pass through a block from a gameplay perspective. Allowing for scenarios like grass to not turn to dirt when a custom block is on top of it.
Perhaps it won't take long, as it was revealed in the 1.21.120 release as something on their roadmap.

yeah, minimum phantom damage on bedrock is higher than max on java.
ideally, phantoms would be reworked to not have their current annoying spawning system, and then they'd make them match bedrock on java.
if they were a mob you had to go out of your way to fight then they should be strong.
if they're just there to be annoying, they shouldn't exist. I'd always play with them turned off if it didn't require enabling cheats (so, on java i just turn them off), which is a shame as i think the mob could be a fun one if they had a different spawn requirement than just existing to force you to sleep.
