yeah it's common bug. that's why there's toggle for graphic switching in-game.
your best bet is to /reload all or rejoin the world with VV enabled.
they probably can't figure out how to fix this so they just put a bandage for that.

Yes, this was fixed in the latest preview to now select the chat input immediately. Though it was actually worse on preview before they fixed it compared to stable so we must just wait on the update
On preview, you had to click the chat input yourself or press ENTER to type. Way worse than a slight delay π

nothing official, but the reality is when we look at prioritizing new platforms/endpoints for Bedrock, Linux and Mac wouldn't rank highly if we judged things based on how many new players we could bring to Minecraft. but that's just my off-the-cuff opinion, and not an official response.

We do consider things like this. But even in that scenario, most of our data shows that MacOS would be the next OS to prioritize for developers. But it just isn't enough to prioritize over other Bedrock platform/endpoint work (like PS5 or switching Windows to GDK).
While on the topic, idk what yall can say and it's probably low priority (idk how many people have one) but native switch 2 version?
I mean I'd assume it would be planned since it just used the switch 1 version right now and it's likely not gonna be a quick/easy process

for some reason they were moved to the same %AppData%\Minecraft Bedrock\Users\<randomnumbers>\games\com.mojang directory as the worlds. They're supposed to be in %AppData%\Minecraft Bedrock\Users\Shared\games\com.mojang

In GDK builds of bedrock, worlds are located in %appdata%/Minecraft Bedrock/Users/.../games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds. The ... is either some random account number, or Shared. Worlds in the S...
So that'd require copying the entire game folder elsewhere? Is there a way to separate the settings, worlds etc from the main version? If a game auto updates, it could update & brick some of the worlds or settings so you won't be able to load them in an older version
For now you have to manually manage it.

The "using 10x more RAM" thing is just a memory leak with input response toggle thing from video settings.

I think they fixed most of the issues in latest preview, during my testing with 1.21.120 previews lots of memory occurred

Bedrock team is honestly kinda small, they're also overwhelmed with bug reports and each are divided into teams like graphical, script-api, and so on. not all people working on the engine or fixing some game bugs, you'll have to wait for that for a while.

but this is really early so there's alot of missing stuff at the moment.
Well one of their priorities is to buy fix the current features they are working on adding to mc, that's all I know about their priorities
their priority depends on if it's game breaking or not but since the memory leak is that priority, they'll get fixed probably a couple of days or so.
So I actually have a lot of experience making content for Java and we're second class citizens. Bedrock is the priority.
You may already know that java and bedrock editions are coded in different languages and hence the way new features are added in maybe different even after devs try their best
It does seem that way at times. I think one reason is that Java still hardcodes a lot of stuff while Bedrock forces themselves to use the addon system.
I don't use that feature, but Bedrock needs it too. That will probably force them to update the sound event format too.
Random example from Java:
That's like saying writing another chapter to a book is different when you have an English and Spanish translation. The differences between the games comes down not to the languge, but how they are written; the themes can be the same, but two authors will have their own writing styles, and they will see their own requirements differently.
The Bedrock edition necessarily fulfills different requirements than Java Edition; this is without regard to what language it was written in, rather the history of its writing and its specific goals.
I feel like that info is way out of date. I think the team has massively grown since 2017 days, where this info originated from.

for me, it is kinda small imo, yeah sure it's gotten bigger but still feels like a couple of people working on it.
it's not like a certain memory leak on android related to fancy graphic toggle that took them many months to fix tbh
this kinda makes me wonder what kind of priority they're doing.
I mean back then there were like a hand full of people developing the (entire) addon system, now I think even script api and editor are teams of 5-7 people at least. And those are just subgroups of the addon eco system.
for such a critical bug that basically crash people phones and even softlock people phones that requires force restart that took em many months.
but yeah it still feels like a small team doing their own things individually to me.
though, the production team uh. i think that one is even larger than the game team itself.
like atp im convinced that their youtube shorts and videos have more contents than minecraft itself ngl.
For the people experiencing issues when trying to log in or sign in with a Microsoft account in Minecraft for Windows and being shown the Drowned code over and over, there is a workaround:
- Open Minecraft
- When you are in the Play Screen, turn off your Wifi and turn it on back again.
- When connected, click on Sign In. Your account will be logged in automatically.
Since this is just a workaround not everything works as intended, but you at least don't need to manually import your worlds. From my testing, skins won't ever load and your Marketplace library will take longer than usual. Everything else works as intended.

It is not, but for the people being affected by this bug, if they try this workaround for whatever reason it breaks those commands.

Honestly, I think it's a great injustice to do something significant without giving details to the users.
So they could create an internal mode like screenshots, where you can share screenshots externally to save them. Why not do the same for structures? That way we can send the file to one of our social networks and that's it, problem solved, just like with screenshots.

So I suggested an alternative method for saving an MC Structure file. When we take a screenshot in the game's gallery, there's a share button that allows us to save the image without directly accessing any files. So I thought, why not use the same system for structures? It doesn't make sense to say it wouldn't be possible since screenshots use this without any problem.

It's frustrating, I work for the Marketplace, and now I can no longer help my team with structures. i definitely do think mojang (and microsoft if they have say) to actually spend more time fixing bugs and getting a proper qa team together. it's getting to the point where it feels like they are just adding something to the game, spend all of 5 minutes testing themselves and then throw it together to be pushed. i'm not trying to hate in anyway but from the direction it's gone since swapping to gdk has been very poor. hopefully a lot of these issues get resolved over the next few weeks.

Does anyone know how to fix a problem that's been occurring since the last update? That is, when I have Minecraft in full screen, the cursor keeps hovering over the desktop.
I also get another error every time I start Minecraft it says application already running but it isn't.
This issue can be fixed by simply going into your task manager and ending the task. That's one way around it.

Also the issue with the mouse.. I've just installed a third party tool to stop this from happening. It's a bit annoying when you forget to disable it though. I use something called "Lock Cursor Tools". It lets you do "CTRL+ALT+I" to lock your mouse to a monitor. Just go fullscreen while using it and you'll be good. Just remember to hit CTRL+ALIT+I again when going to another monitor. You can also move your mouse to the top left and click on a green lock to unlock it too.

i think for the regular inventory it should be one box
for crafting tables, furnaces, hoppers, etc. it makes sense to separate the top half from the player inventory because they're separate, one is things on you and the other is a container or just separate block from the player.
but for the player, both the top and bottom parts are your inventory
