the new copper tools are starting to grow on me
ive been playing all day today and i have not used an iron pickaxe at all, i just don’t feel the need to get iron tools ASAP for early-game building anymore because the copper tools’ mining speed is actually good enough to be useful for gathering lots of wood and stone
yea, also iron is pretty expensive in the middle game as well compared to cooper for axes best choice, unless you have villagers trading diamond axes for few emeralds

It depends on the bottle manufacture if is easy enough to open/close the cap. Some caps are impossible to close and causes your drink/product to just stay half open

i think quivers would be good if they were like, a bundle for arrows that cycled through arrows you put in it.

So, you can put up to a stack of arrows in the quiver, and then order how you want them to shoot.
and then every time you shoot an arrow it'd go to the next one in order
this isn't a perfect system as it doesn't take into account "what if you miss"
but itd be somewhat useful i think
also i am very curious what they'll do when they eventually try to go for another combat update.
i hope they don't just give us the cooldowns on bedrock.

before they do that they gotta add an option to lock the difficulty on bedrock
overall i think this sort of update would really add a lot to the game.
right now, you have people saying Minecraft is too easy, and people saying it needs to be even easier than it already is. You can't balance the game around everyone, and the current difficulty settings don't do a good job at that.
so, let players have more control over stuff as well as letting difficulty do more than it currently does.
gamerules already do some of this but they're locked behind cheats on bedrock (besides a few, like turning off sleeping), and still a lot of them are on/off.
(please make it so doInsomnia isn't a cheat mojang)

If you like the way the game is now, this difficulty rework changes nothing for you, you could keep playing exactly as you were.

They say they want to keep the End a desolate wasteland and if they update it it wont be like the mods we see today.

but that's not how i think the End should be in vanilla

like, okay, giant trees CAN work in the End i guess, but they feel too normal.

idk, Dungeons fits the visual style of the End but it also feels weird to have just end grass and end bushes and stuff.
i'd prefer a different approach personally. Keep the End feeling like a dying, desolate wasteland.

i just think end trees don't really fit. The only plant we have in the End right now is completely unique

Another soulless, easy and uninnovative tiny boss that floats around in emits the huge realm of nothing? Surely not. New mobs? Well thats just biomes again except they float around anywhere instead of their own home
I'm not against new biomes. Just not "recoloured forest, again!"
right now, the End's main plant is the chorus plant. That's completely different from anything you find in the overworld.
the End should feel unfamiliar. If it gets a new wood type, it shouldn't be a tree or giant mushroom.
(personally i think more things like how bamboo wood works could be fun, where you don't get the wood type directly from it but instead have to first break the plant and then convert it into a wood type in some way)

right now the issue is it looks bland. The supernovae are an improvement, but the actual islands are boring with no visual variety.
the Nether Update added soul sand valleys and basalt deltas, both of which look completely different from the nether wastes, but capture the same general feel.

I wanted to help clarify a few things so we avoid misunderstandings (and mistranslations) 🙂
Tl;Dr: The stream was a fun time talking about our favorite things in Minecraft and answering fan questions about our favorite game. We didn't discuss any future updates, roadmaps or upcoming features that haven't been announced. This conversation was more about things I am personally excited about and my thoughts about what would be fun for Minecraft in the future.
For example:
• I said I would like to work on minecarts in the future.
• I said I am excited to improve the end some unknown time in the future, and shared my personal thoughts about what could be cool for it.
• I said I would like to improve how easy it is to play with your friends on java.

So which screens have been converted to Ore UI till now
oh WELL this thing is up again!
Here's few changes I've noticed —
- The arrow that somehow is untextured blockbench texture pointing to NPC now exists
- The lobby's spawnpoint is below the actual place where you spawn in. somehow.
- The castle gamemode has got pretty great upgrade, the game is now 4 teams based capture the flag gamemode instead of deathmatch 2 teams gamemode.
- There's now spawn protections when you respawn, although I'm not certain if this exists before or not.
- The map got a few new bridge designs.
- The flag that oneshots you has been fixed.
The arrow is actually an editor mode marker!

External storage option doesn't apply to options.txt, it's just not there. I'm gonna see if creating it manually will work, it used to but they might've silently patched it.

Ok nice, it still works. But given how obfuscated and undocumented this thing is, and how both mojang with MCPE and google with android are making things more closed down, hostile towards modding and tinkering & ramping up security, it might not last for long

I don't know either, both colors and emojis are used a lot on this screen, the official servers themselves used this, honestly I think it's really bad that they removed both functions, of course this could change in the future, but I don't know at the moment that's not the case

it's set in the blocks.json for destruction particles
but i wonder why it also takes this texture for rendering the item in offhand..
i'd love to get an ability how adding carried_texture in blocks.json makes the block have an item form, without needing to make a separate item with block_placer... it would be useful for blocks that don't have stuff like fuel component, or tags for crafting, for example, wood stuff, just an item like a candle or amethyst cluster, no need for an item file
but blocks.json is getting removed anyway...

but making an item model will quite tedious, since we can’t use texture mashes on this case. especially if the texture is quite complex
Its not that hard, its just a 2d plane really. And you can reuse it.
Also, ismt carried textire still using the same geometry but different texture? I havent heard of it being used to give a 2d icon to blocks.
for vanilla blocks, but i just assume that if he block has carried texture defined, it makes the item form of the block have and item model

i feel like they really should add that, since it is now the intended look for the End, and VV doesn't even exist on some platforms (the switch), and on others (PS4/XB1) you're still probably going to play with it off.
And because it's just not as bright and impactful in VV as it should be.

i think this is something that really should be in all graphics modes, because it's just such a major difference in how the dimension looks, it makes it feel inconsistent when you have VV off.
It's the only really major feature that only exists when you have VV on that isn't clearly just a "this couldn't be done with weaker graphics settings"
