Also no proof they’d pay to begin with and asking that as an open invite in a discord server is kinda strange anyway

I’ve read that back then, nude children had a connotation of innocence and youth in some cultures, which was reflected in paintings of the time. But ofc not all of them painted with that idea in mind

Whenever i see old paintings though, I can’t even begin to imagine how they achieved the result

I was thinking about how his shading method and how it is different from how someone like jeff watts would shade

The difference is that jeff doesn’t really touch the white of the paper, he first goes through his shadow values, then half tones, then he might blend the half tones into his white and and shadow values

But the light areas never really get touched directly

And he can control all this so well because he basically maps out everything before shading like that

With draw sessions, the first thing you do is put a cover of graphite over the whole drawing

So it’s already different right there

I think in the end, the draw sessions method works better for me if I’m drawing from imagination or drawing an animal or something similar

And the jeff watts way works better if I’m doing a figure drawing of a human or something similar

I don’t believe the two methods are extremely different, but I do think the draw sessions one is easier to use overall because it requires less precision

I think having something on the paper to begin with feels easier personally🤔 working from something closer to the middle (grey) rather than the extreme (white)

But i also paint from dark to light and let opacity by pressure create the midtones. It’s more like sculpting in a sense
