You can change what size you want the map to be by saying something like ~c 10 this will result in a map sized like 10x14. Max map size is 25x25

If you want the new biomes, you'll have to convert it manually by using the converter program itself

You probably downloaded maps that are far too big for your device to handle. Pay attention to the map sizes provided in the descriptions of the maps, they are there for a reason.

next open worldbox folder

and delete all files from it

If you don't want or can't use a mod, just wait until all the kingdoms grow their borders and take up all the land, then use the demolish tool to remove territory as needed to shape the kingdoms as you want.

But not fully settled with populations, just with like 1 or 2 population per country and their settlement would be their capital or something. this will be the first save in your game when you launch.
