On steam you just subscribe to the map, open steam menu in game, go to browse maps, and select it. I am not good at directly downloading map file so I can’t help with that one

Download the map on a PC if possible upload it to your own cloud storage (like Google Drive or Dropbox), On your tablet, download the file from your cloud and move it into the WorldBox save folder.
If your tablet doesn’t let you move files directly, try using a file manager app (like Files by Google or ZArchiver) to access the correct save directory that way, you won’t need someone else to re-upload the map for you.

Probably it will work if not then text again

How to access the worldbox data folder on android 11 to 13.
If steps below don't work or android 14+ use these alternative methods :

1. Download a third-party application like "File Manager" from google play,
2. Now go to your phone’s "settings" application, after that find/search an factory system application called "Files" (has a darker blue background with a big white folder in the center of the icon), then click it,
3. you will be showed the "app info" screen after clicked the "Files" application, find the three dots button,
4. After you see the three dots button, click the three dots button and then if it has an "uninstall updates" option there, make sure to choose the option (wait until the uninstalling process is done and completed to avoid a mistake),
5. Now open the third-party application (File Manager) and allow it to manage files,
6. Find the "Android" folder and open it, then open the data folder,
7. You'll see some popup, touch "ok"/"yes" and also touch the "use this folder" button at bottom without opening any files that are showing,
8. If you have succeeded, the app will now have access to android file and can enter the saves folder in "com.mkarpenko.worldbox" folder.

@ocean elk I'm not sure if you can tbh I play on mobile. But the best way I can tell you to do it is to use the discord map converter and convert any map or image using the command ~ac 12x12 and follow a map installation guide.

If your downloading a map file no. If someone says something is a map file and it’s something else (which would not be the easiest trick I don’t think and is unlikely) you’ll probably die. But downloading maps off steam should generally be safe, as with maps from #🌐map-downloads

Basically point is I can’t say all are safe but I do think most are safe

You can never be 100 but you can always be sure lol

for some reason this game doesn't like snapdragon 600 and 700 series when using custom map tried reinstalling it still crashes but an equivalent one from mediatek can run 21x20 map just fine

Placing biomes gotta be the hardest part of a map, mainly because of things like wind direction, mountains blocking humidity, tropic zones and other factors that make places more arid and others more humid

In matters of realism, it's kinda pointless cuz we will never have a 100% accuracy, but it's still good to try

yeah you should redesign the mountains to connect to some of the rivers since thats how they work realistically, and a few valley rivers could be cool like how you did on the east coast but yeah mountains should kinda cut off some regions, everything is to wide open
For example (red is mountain blue is river)
This is just an example of what it could possibly look like goign based on the fact that rivers connect to mountains. It doesnt have to be exact I just sketched something up with my terrible painting skills

Some phones can handle up to maps of up to a land area of 150, with likely performance decreases if the map has a large population and amount of vegetation. Therefore, maps within these restrictions are what's usually considered "mobile friendly".
However, keep in mind that "mobile friendly" doesn't mean that it's always good for your specific phone, pay attention to aspects like the map.wbox KB/MB size and compare it to what your specific phone was already able to run in the past. The definition for "mobile friendly" is just an average, there's always going to be better phones that can also run huge maps and worse phones that even struggle with iceberg.

There's some differences, but I also just checked the menu on the iPad of a friend who owns one, and they do have a "Save to Files" option, so I think you somehow disabled that being displayed somewhere.

On that other iPad using version 26, there was a "More" option which allowed for scrolling after being pressed, at which point I could also access "Edit Action" to change whether file saving is shown.

Have you tried if the menu is different if yu try pressing the share icon instead of "Open In" btw?

the terrain mix is also smth i am still working at, i am trying to make better transitions

like, yk how in some parts of the world you go from a really dry place, then mild, then humid terrain
