I was thinking that it eats the gold and dissolves it in its stomach and that stone part gathers on all it body for protection and the gold for camouflage in fields of gold ore

It steal gold ores from miners and uses it to sharpen it's branches because iron would break it and rock would just hurt it and gold is a balance, not too soft but strong enough

So if miners pass through a forest back to the miner's village they have a chance of the gold being stolen.

And the trent would get stronger

Would the excess gold be stored in its trunk so if you kill it whoever killed it would get the gold.

And eventually wouldn't it have to use iron or stone to sharpen it branches because how big it would get and eventually the gold would be to soft to sharpen them.

@vale raven it's easier to draw shadows not frame by frame but by using the copy paste function if you click the movie icon thing at the top rigth and press copy frame, or you could use layers and fuse the layers after wards.
