The implementation of different units of currency in kingdoms. These could be built upon gold, but each kingdom uses them and measures them differently. One kingdom could have one system of currency while another one had another. Kingdoms that are annexed could hold onto their older currency or use new ones in order to help with potential trade. Trade could also become a key feature in all of this, with kingdoms sharing similar currencies being able to trade depending on their real and other kingdoms refusing to trade with others that have a different system. By adding this, it adds a potential global economy and can create unique trade scenarios.

Royal Family: This allows for their to be a Queen and King of a kingdom. Also if possible make village leaders look a little more dignified or fancy.
Kingdoms need to construct walls around their capital to defend and slow down the attacking enemy. The walls should cost about 500 stone and have about 10000 hp(?) Defending archers could be positioned on top of the walls to rain down arrows on foes. Thereās a main gate where people come in and out of and is the only way to enter the capital properly. Enemies however have ways to approach. Armies could scale the walls with ladders, however 10 soldiers are needed to bring and position them (ladders could also be destroyed and disappear when the attack is done). Or they could go for the main gate with a battering ram which requires 15 soldiers to operate. Itāll take some hits to bash down the gate but once destroyed allows soldiers to flood in and attack.

What about catapults
Additional Humans These humans do not replace the default humans but are instead different variants of the default race. They create buildings appropriate to their region in the world.
- Snow-Men: Humans that live and build on snow-tiles. Scandinavian inspired architecture.
- Sand-Men: Humans that live and build on sand tiles. Arabic and African inspired architecture.
- Imperialists: Humans that live on grass and forest tiles. Instead of obliterating different races from the world, they incorporate them into their kingdom. Greco-Roman inspired architecture and/or reusing old Human kingdom textures/assets.
If these humans are settled outside of their preferred biome, then they will build structures at a slower rate than the default human and other races. If all their villages are destroyed, and if they are any humans remaining, they will either resettle or integrate with a random human kingdom.

Horses for humans to ride as a faster way to get around cities, or ride them into battle, as people gain more materials they create horse armor & horse carts for more people to ride on.

New improvements to the bandits: They could build their own settlement though it wonāt be as big compared to other civilizations. Every once in a while bandits would go out invade other settlements(if needed they could use boats to invade settlements across large bodies of water), this is their way of getting resources needed to improve their settlement; this event is called a raid and they happen every once and a while but not too much. Bandits do not place bombs when in their settlement and only use them when in battle (unless the fight is in their own settlement).

Regalia
The idea of Regalia is that they are weapons and equipment that are a tier above standard legendary gear. The player would be able to drop regalia onto the ground until a unit picks them up and uses it. The difference between regalia and standard weapons, is that they cannot be lost, destroyed, nor traded away. Should a unit holding a regalia die, the equipment will fall on the ground or float on water until another unit picks it up. The idea would be to create timeless weapons or armor that cannot be destroyed unless it's by the players hands, and since it cannot be traded away, this would likely ensure that the regalia will not always end up in the hands of a king, and can still be stolen quite easily.

Commanders and Tactics
Commanders would be a new warrior profession. Commanders will form a squad made up of various warriors (i.e warrior, archer, mages, etc...) The squad will remain within a certain radius of the commander and follow wherever the commander goes. For every 25 population points a territory has, there will be 1 commander, and each commander can have a maximum of 10 troops per squad. Numbers can be changed to maxims discretion
Tactics are traits utilized only by Commanders, Leaders, and Kings. If a unit has a tactic, but are not any of the professions listed above, it will serve no purpose. Any unit with a tactic, will provide a buff to certain stats to warriors under their command. Commanders will provide buffs only to units within their squad. Leaders will provide buffs to all warriors that belong to their state. Kings will provide a buff to all warriors in their Kingdom.
Exemplary Leader: slight buff to all combat professions.
Close Expertise: buff to all warriors.
Ranged Expertise: buff to all archers.
Magic Expertise: buff to all mages.
Aggressive Tactics: buff to attack/critical hit/attack speed to all combat professions
Defensive Tactics: buff to Health points/armor/speed to all combat professions
Incompetent Leader: slight debuff to all combat professions
Cowardly Commander: debuff to attack/critical hit/attack speed to all combat professions
Oppressive Commander: debuff to health points/armor/speed to all combat professions
Armies may become much stronger or weaker based on the tactics those in leadership positions have. A king with exemplary leader would boost all stats of all warriors, while a leader with ranged expertise would further boost the stats of archers within their own state, and a commander with aggressive tactics would increase the prowess of those within their squad. On the other hand, if a King had Incompetent Leader, then it would fall upon the leaders and commanders to pick up the slack.

Heroes (an addition to my previous suggestion)
Heroes are a powerful warrior professions that have significantly higher stats and equipment priority compared to most other units. There can be 1 hero per state. So a kingdom that has 4 states will only have 4 heroes at maximum. Like Commanders, heroes will have squads, but are significantly larger than commanders squads.
Weaknesses and Resistances
Some units may be born with a weakness or resistance. If a unit has a weakness, they will take bonus damage against certain weapons, and if they have a resistance, they will reduce damage dealt to them by certain weapons. For example, a unit may have a [Spear Weakness] and an [Axe Resistance]. If a unit has a weakness, they are required to have a resistance and vice versa

countries have different army types and strategies, which can be based off of ancient civilizations. A Roman army type would be split into legions, like what @magic verge said, Nordic styled ones would specialize in raiding, and Mongol styled ones would be shock troops that would be very mobile

Larger than the other races. They can live very long and donāt go hungry as fast as the other races but they have the slowest population growth. Unlike the other races they grow like chickens in the sense if they lay eggs that would then hatch into small lizard men then grow into large lizard men. Reptiles/Dinosare are passive towards them, however the T-Rex will also harm them if enraged close to them. Unlike the other races they would prefer hot climates and could build cities in deserts.
Their buildings could be look like adobe houses.
Their special trait could be ācold bloodedā : loves the heat, canāt stand the cold.
They are neutral to elves , but hate orcs , dwarves, and humans.

You should add a kraken to the game that can destroy ships and kill everyone on them, and when the ship gets destroyed there will be a shipwreck that appears on shore with loot from the people on it. (I don't suggest it being controllable)

A new race which is insects. Human sized insects that are a praying mantis that build grass huts as there buldong type and hate humans for not caring about bugs lives matter when they were small. They love forests where there's a lot of grass.

an idea for mages
I'm not sure exactly what maxim's plans are for mages, but here's an idea. Some mages may use temporary status spells on enemy units. For example, a mage may have a small chance to inflict madness or curse on an enemy for a short duration of time.
Tile that can't be crossed by ground creatures. Arrows can still be fired overhead, but nothing can pass on foot. Can be used to pen in creatures, or if you'd like wars to be stalemated, act almost like trenches preventing armies from pushing further into enemy territory until the tile is broken or they find another way around.
sports/games/tournaments people can do
And when I say games I mean like chess or spar fighting or something like that
and maybe when a city grows enough it could be split into different districts like commoners district and etc and that would be like the capital as it rules the nearby smaller villages to take tributes from them it would make up that kingdoms territory and an empire could be formed if a kingdom took control of a lot more

while a family tree would be interesting, units typically reproduce asexually. and depending on how long the game has been running, there would likely be a lot of information to store and potentially slow down the game

I feel like the places are too peaceful internally so maybe there could be stuff like the occasional brawl if a war is breaking out or maybe there could be thiefās pickpocketing people

religion, where the player can select the individual entities religion such as humans/orcs/or animals, and the player can create individual religions from the ground up starting with only atheism, and the game as it progressively goes along will have the people creating new religions, and each religion has a different stat e.g. (zealous, harmonious, and indifferent) where zealous encourages war with all that don't follow their religion, harmonious avoids all conflict and gets a + modifier for anyone at peace. and indifferent has no modifiers, also statues and churches/cathedrals in those religions that act as buildings, where anyone with a statue gets + modifiers for all other cities who have a major population of people with the associated religion and negative with anyone else. the religion effects diplomacy and diplomacy effects religion. I completely understand if this gets modified to a degree considering how much it is.

Anyways, different types of governments I feel would be unnecessary. WorldBox is pretty simplistic in its design and display. Different types of governments would likely just boil down to what we already have, but with a new coat of paint. Something that looks new and different, but is exactly the same

I notice a lot of the times we get chorrupt leaders in game, maybe a new democracy would make that less likely.

as a new disaster you should add tsunamis. When using the tsunami a huge wave will apear destroying all villages in its path and sinking ships because the huge waves take it under. Races would die of drowning or tempurture reasons and its a low chance of surviving a hit from one. All fires would be put out from the tsuanmi and the area struck by a tsunami would be flooded (In world laws you can turn off floodings from tsuanmis or just make them never flood the map I don't really care.)

Apocalypse mode (World rule), if switched on zombies and skeletons will spawn into the world every minute and zombies will always slowly move towards cities and form hordes reaching about 50-100. There would be different levels of the world rule making it so that the higher the level the more zombies. In this mode there aren't any mobs that help humans that spawn naturally such as fairies. The texture of the ground would also be darker then usual. Every 50 years a Level 10 Dragon would spawn, this would cause all zombies and skeletons to change there attention to the Dragon and try to kill it. In this mode everything is against humanity which also makes it so that 5% of crops that are grown would die before they can be harvested.
