My understanding is take one end of the guaze and apply pressure to the source of bleeding then hold pressure while packing with the goal of maintaining that pressure through packing and wrapping

i made the 7 list at 7 at the end of my last deployment in '10 and knew since i had rated combat time as a TL, SL and PSG all while at Lewis on mutliple deployments i was almost definetly getting tradoc orders to either recruiting or drill....i couldnt stomach the thought of either....one of the decisions that led to me ETS at 8 years....pretty much all of my peer E6s ALL got those tradoc orders right after I ETS...dodged a bullet

the camera was designed so that it was universal, the idea was that you'd get it dirty in your area

nobody did that Because why would you outside of a field environment And then people don't like wearing dirty clothes

so most people's interact with the camo outside the military was in Garrison, where it would look stark white because everyone would wash the hell out of them

I’ll concede that in my experience in Iraq it wasn’t horrible as camo because it did somewhat blend in the tan/gray urban environment. The problem with that is it meant nothing. Urban combat is about identifying movement, shadows, sounds and silhouettes. Camouflage meant nothing when you’re silhouetted on a roof top or in a doorway. It did nothing good when working the palm groves and orchards. In a green environment no matter how dirty it got it just didn’t work still. My last rotation to JRTC in our recce platoon there’s a reason we took and only wore BDUs for working.

The person that decided that was what was needed to make it blend in had literally never been on a field exercise is where my money is. They must have pictured constantly crawling around in mud. They should have known if Joe can crawl around the mud puddle they crawling around it

In all honesty what the army should have done is used UCP as a base and then issued out basically just dye kits in the AO

you can't tell me that if the army issued out a desert, jungle, and like temperate forest kit for the base layer it would mean that it cuts down on their Amount of camos like they wanted to and people throw out uniforms after they deploy anyway Because it's all expendable

the only places that really kind of sucks is with your gear but if a unit stays in that area the gear is not leaving

I think in reality they could have kept the BDUs and ran it even in the desert and drop DCU all together if the content was to not issue 2 separate uniforms.
