Prometheus and covenant make 4 look like an Oscar winner

#

3 was the darkest and most hopeless of the trilogy. Insane twists. Perfect conclusion. Great cast and acting. (hilarious all the supporting actors are from the British isles).

#

If you don't take it seriously 4 is a really fun action flick with an insane cast.

You are right that the conclusion was alright

you get the funny gatekept comms with them but the sound quality isn't much better and comes at the cost of absolutely abysmal battery life

#

Only issue I’m having with the ComTacs is when they’re mounted on the helmet, they push pretty hard against my head to keep a firm seal, but that puts a pretty large amount of air pressure on my left eardrum, it’s mildly annoying, but not exactly terrible.

so a guy in Vietnam was sleeping naked because it was hot as balls then he had to go take a shit

guy doesn't want to get dressed so he puts on his fucking Vietcong slippers that he liberated from a dead guy

#

So while he goes over the slit trench go take a shit, All he grabbed was his side arm because he didn't want to have to grab everything so he's carrying a shoulder holster 1911 naked as fuck with Vietcong slippers

#

yeah the Vietcong start launching flares which means that they're gonna start doing some wacky shit

So all he has is his 1911 while he's butt ass naked now in a foxhole with no rifle

Or just straight up kerlix

Only meds that should be in an IFAK are potent medications like what the combat pill packs have I.e: Moxifloxacin 400 mg one tablet (one), - Meloxicam 15 mg one tablet (one), - and Acetaminophen 1300 mg extended release, (2) 650 mg caplets.

outer leaf
#

Cheapest option is just dont get shot

coarse laurel
#

You want that ace wrap especially for Junctional wounds

#

Neck, groin, armpit, etc

outer leaf
#

Junctional wonds are what scare me. I need to take a combat medicine course

#

Ask me to draw up meds for a code I got you. Ask me to stop a junctional bleed results may vary

coarse laurel
#

It’s simple really

#

As long as you can find the wound and apply appropriate pressure and the right dressing

outer leaf
#

My understanding is take one end of the guaze and apply pressure to the source of bleeding then hold pressure while packing with the goal of maintaining that pressure through packing and wrapping

coarse laurel
#

When packing wounds always pack towards the heart

outer leaf
#

If I remember correctly

coarse laurel
#

Yes

#

That’s basically it, the thing that gets people killed is when people see a pool of blood they start applying pressure instead of getting eyes on the actual entry wound

#

You want a an actual visual and physical blood sweep to make sure

outer leaf
#

Yeah you have to find the source especially if it is an artery it needs direct pressure

#

Shoutout the poor guy with 13 GSW's that ended up in our ER (we werent a trauma center)

#

I'm getting really tired of having to defend UCP

#

it's really not that bad of a camo, the design methodology was just shit

old portal
#

Don’t die on that hill Custer. It was trash when you look at the other options available but were overlooked to save money

muted gate
#

the camera was designed so that it was universal, the idea was that you'd get it dirty in your area

#

nobody did that Because why would you outside of a field environment And then people don't like wearing dirty clothes

#

so most people's interact with the camo outside the military was in Garrison, where it would look stark white because everyone would wash the hell out of them

old portal
# muted gate No I'm making this my hill now

I’ll concede that in my experience in Iraq it wasn’t horrible as camo because it did somewhat blend in the tan/gray urban environment. The problem with that is it meant nothing. Urban combat is about identifying movement, shadows, sounds and silhouettes. Camouflage meant nothing when you’re silhouetted on a roof top or in a doorway. It did nothing good when working the palm groves and orchards. In a green environment no matter how dirty it got it just didn’t work still. My last rotation to JRTC in our recce platoon there’s a reason we took and only wore BDUs for working.

muted gate
old portal
#

This was taken at JRTC. Wearing UCP at a week long FBI course I was attending

old portal
#

The person that decided that was what was needed to make it blend in had literally never been on a field exercise is where my money is. They must have pictured constantly crawling around in mud. They should have known if Joe can crawl around the mud puddle they crawling around it

muted gate
#

but it has logic that tracks

#

it's just the fact that the logic is stupid

#

It's why whenever you see guys dye it green it works really well

#

and why UCP-D worked well

#

It sucks up the dye extremely easily because it was kind of designed to do that except with dirt

old portal
old portal
muted gate
#

In all honesty what the army should have done is used UCP as a base and then issued out basically just dye kits in the AO

#

you can't tell me that if the army issued out a desert, jungle, and like temperate forest kit for the base layer it would mean that it cuts down on their Amount of camos like they wanted to and people throw out uniforms after they deploy anyway Because it's all expendable

#

the only places that really kind of sucks is with your gear but if a unit stays in that area the gear is not leaving

old portal
#

I think in reality they could have kept the BDUs and ran it even in the desert and drop DCU all together if the content was to not issue 2 separate uniforms.

muted gate
old portal
#

Not arguing at all. Good discussion

#

I just never saw the point of trying to camo in urban environments that Iraq brought on.

muted gate
#

ucp doesn't stand for urban it stands for universal

#

But I think that the current OCP was a good idea
