Start off by doing a lot of Offline and Scav raids. Offline helps you learn the maps, Scav raids help you get gear with no risk. Tbh for like the first 20 levels or maybe longer, do a scav raid every single time you have it available. Even if you do one PMC raid and live, do a scav raid when you come out. You spawn with totally random loot, sometimes it's really good stuff. You can actually spawn with a Gzhel rarely which is a class 5 armor. The guns are usually junky, but if you get lucky you'll come across a dead PMC with good gear, and make it out with that. Plus if you die, you don't lose anything. They're very underrated.

@jagged flax The Korund imo is overrated. The ms loss and the effective durability make it feel terrible to use. I'd rather use tier 4 armor than run a Korund. If you're running tier 5 armor, it's prob because you want to pvp effectively and the most noticable rounds that class 5 armor would "stop" in comparison to tier 4 armor, would be 7.62 BP, and m855a1. Korund is made of steel and the max durability is almost the lowest of any armor so even though it can stop m855a1 on the first round, after the damage calculations are applied, the Korund should be nearly gone and at most will tank a 2nd shot for you, then it'd be like wearing no armor. If you do decide to stick with Korund, I'd avoid pvp with it and use it only for budget runs (Even then, I think having the ms would help you more than tanking at most 2 rounds of any bullet that tier 4 couldn't stop.) For tier 5 armor, you should be trying to pvp so I'd recommend Killa armor, or if you can get the barter trade for it, the aacpc from ragman 4.

The only reason Korund sucks so much is because it covers too much area if it didn't cover the stomach it would be a great armor

If you really still want to use the Korund for budget runs and trying to survive, just pay the little bit extra and run the high mobility gen4, the effective durability is a bit better for "tanking" shots and the penalties aren't that bad
