Nope, if you DC your body stays behind to prevent stuff like that from happening.
-and it's not your ping that matters, it's his and the stability of the server.
Since your ping is the connection to the server, not to other players.
i didnt die to it guess thats all that matters
Ye.
I've been on both sides of that before. I once got shown a video where I teleported around a corner and shot a guy in the face with a pistol, where on my screen he was just standing still.
hmm first time seeing this myself, just wondering where he went i looked around a bit no trace of him, my shots totally hit him though since none of the scavs i killed had armor and i had a good amount of armor dmg
What it sounds like happened is that before you actually closed with the shotgun, on his game he ran away from you or dove for cover somewhere else, and while the game on your end wasn't tracking his XYZ position it was tracking the standing/prone position.
Which is why he was standing and proning so erratically, then when your game caught up he disappeared.
orrr... orrrrrr... he is a space ninja
i knew it
How active is the game? I've been wanting to buy it for a long time, and I think I'm gonna get it in like the next week, but I'm concerned about the player count.
there is lots of servers in different time zones i can always find people
this game is only going to get more busy as they continue to add stuff also
Sweet. The game looks like it feels good, and honestly, I don't know why I've waited so long to buy it
no worries
it is pretty fun, but very unforgiving think games like squad, arma and the likes
ooohh
player count is the last thing you should be worried about tbh
i do think this game is just about to hit its stride, a big patch is coming up.
i am addicted to buying and outfitting guns, its one of the highlights of this game i think personally
I really enjoy games where you lose everything when you die. Also, the "beta" is just an early access state, right? Like the servers are always up unless like down for maintenance or something?
ye
yep
and maintenance is a rare sight too
Awesome. Thanks for the info. Now I gotta find a way to make some money lol
check out veritas on youtube he is great for figuring things out
or pestily
also he is pretty fun to watch in general
or like any youtuber/streamer
but ye better check some streamers or yotubers before u get into
lol, I'll probably be watching a lot of stuff until I actually get the game
make liberal use of your scav when you are starting out it will help you get situated without risking your own stuff
also if you run 2 moniters i tend to run maps on my other screen it helps you to learn where you are much faster
Yeah, a second monitor is on my list of things I gotta purchase. I unfortunately don't have a summer job at the moment, so I just have to get money where I can
no worries
Been a long night for me, so I'm gonna try to catch some sleep. Thanks for all the information
np
Yeah, you can use a scav to get easy gear.
I wonder if Tarkov will at least keep a firing range mode or something so that I can try out the guns I mod without risking losing them because I shot.
also some big thing that we can't talk about is already done and you will be happy to know what it is later
YEAH a new movie, /ironie off.
0.12 would be the worst patch ever. If they are not bringing a HUGE solution against hackers, that basicly means the company doesnt know what is important and what issnt. And If there is no HUGe hacker update the game is dead at least for me.
If they cant fix hackers thats fine, than give us a deathcam.
I found a REALLY old session - 20 years old in fact. Š2019 Marty O'Donnell Music LLC

#eft-chat has turned into off-topic, so I'm here to talk about eft.
I'm curious as to what people think about the military map, what's going to be good about it, and what's going to be bad about it.
I think that the idea of mounted LMGs will be pretty cool, I imagine that the ammo will be expensive though.
is trading not allowed in this discord? just wondering, im also in the trading community discord
I've seen trading happen.
Pretty sure I saw a mod being totally casual about it.
Don't think you've anything to worry about. Don't hang me up on it, though.
yeah...just strange they dont have a channel for it if allowed
Trading is allowed, but there is no specific channel for it.
I would have directed you to the other trading discord, but I see you're already in it.
speechless
Would anyone be willing to help me? I have trouble making profit, I just need a little guidence.

Lol you think I should keep playing eft with a 950 gtx or just wait for a better graphics card
@forest lance
Post the rest of your stats m'dude.
It took me a bit to find my cpu and I would need to go home to check my ram
But I have a
AMD RYZEN 5 2600 6-Core 3.4 GHz
I know I have like 8gb of ram
I was thinking of overclocking my cpu to help
You should be able to run med-low, your CPU is more than fine since it's the same as mine.
I would reccomend a better GPU and Memory eventually though.
Oh definitely I have a 1060 waiting in my cart
For when I have a little spending money
And I'm thinking if just getting new ram sticks instead of just getting two more of the same ram I have
Agree.
Ye
Definitely worth.
You can pull 1-200k â˝ in a scav IC run
Ic?
And I don't know where the hot spots for loot is
Interchange is a sick map. Two big easy extracts and a whole shitfuckton of loot strewn across the map without needing keys
And itâs got a lot of scavs, but if you stay out of the middle hallway youâll be Gucci
@forest lance Look online for a map, itâll show you the hotspots
The bottom garage has maybe 20-30 weapon crates
!wiki interchange
Kiba needs 2 keys
Waste of time
WAIT
WTF
LOL
I just did a factory run with a grach scav
and i met a guy with fort and kiver with no face shield
1 tapped him
i jsut got my first fort armor
Well done
Ayy
how much does that go for
What gun were you using?
You're trying to sell it on the flea?
See how much one of the traders would buy it for
@latent karma Being a noob is ok. Just know that in the future youâll want that stuff, but itâs rare to come across if you donât use the overpriced flea market.
What youâll learn is that itâs not hard to make rupees, you just have to get used to the tricks
Barters do not give you as much money as the flea market
Have you tried just running a few scav runs? Berry?
On what maps, whatâs your go to?
berry
Fac
factory is the fast pvp map
Try interchange, get a map out from online with the loot spawns
if you want good loot you have shoreline, interchange if you have kiba or know the tetris spawns
You need to learn it
i know only factory and labs well
customs for reshala and marked room
I tried shorline
noob knows labs what
1/4 tries i actually foudn the restaurant
Interchange isnât hard to learn. Use the maps and remember the hallways
On IC just keep in mind whichever exit you have, and then move through the mall checking every store along the way
^
South exit is behind OLI which is the southern big store
And North exit is a bit away from the front of IDEA which is the northern big store
Yeah damn factory and labs are like some high level shit
@latent karma Just play scavs on it for a while. Goshan is on the east end and the main entrance is on the west. Look around while youâre playing and start memorizing the outside look of the mall
Ye
Offline mode is also a thing too
Idea is on the north and Oli on the South
The parking garage is mostly just scavs and has some loot, but is kinda confusing to learn
The stores themselves are pretty simple
Thatâs on the ground floor, Mall, Oli, and Idea are on the second
And the third level has a few restaurants and tech stores
Eventually you learn things like Emercom is never open and Techlight is next to the western Oli escalator
And that if you look closely from the highway you can see Korgi camping the second level like

Shhhh
It's not camping
It's holding your position
or sniping
depending on your kit.

It's one helluva gun
Depends
but it's unsuppressed
Iâd sell it because itâs not by play style
Or Iâd hoard it because I like itâs aesthetics in my stash
Well I got it off sniper scav
Itâd be decoration only tho
But make sure to avoid the middle hallway. Thereâs a scav boss called Killa thatll rip you open
Even if youâre a scav
Yep
So youâre under the mall. Basically, thatâs the bottom level. It has a bunch, like a fuck ton, of crates for weapons and parts. @latent karma
Above you is the second floor. Youâll find more jackets and scavs, and a lot of dead bodies, but itâs more dangerous.
Above that is the second level. It has a few great spots with high values spawns, but as a scav, theyâve likely already been looted
oh shit
i shouldve looted that
before i went upstairs
i just went into a store called techlight
didnt fidn anythin
Techlight is great to check tho, also Tekno which is under it
And along the hallway leading from Oli (so left turn once you come down the escalator from techlight) there's a third tech store called Rasmussen
im in some green area now
Thatâs Oli
Youâre at the southern end of the map
You went north to south
So if you have southeast exfil, use that to orient yourself
Oli doesnât have much except for scavs
kinda sucks my scav had no bp
There you go!
its a scav
Both north and south
i got 28 mins
if i hug a wall ill eventually get there right?
Just get out of the store and if you see a parking lot, head to the front-right corner of the map from where you came out from
And if you see loading ramps, do the same
Yep, so basically you went north to south. One exfil is to your southeast and one to the northeast
But Iâd keep moving around to get more loot
Itâs not a dangerous map
Ok. So you go forwards and right
Leaving that entrance, youâre facing west
And your exfil is northwest
purely by looting i dont see y this map is all that good
compared to factory quick pvp
Because you are leaving after like 10 minutes
@bold trellis What is the sound card you have?
And did you plug everything in correctly
ive been here for 20-25
In a PMC raid, Iâll find a few AKs, a tetriz, a gas an and gmcount from idea, bunch of small rifles, probably good armor
ive been here for 20
You just need to know the loot spawns
I might try a diffrent PCI slot tomorrow
@bold trellis Also did you uninstall all your previous audio drivers and reboot before plugging in and installing the drivers for the sound card?
at an intersection
Whatâs the sign say
And then reboot again before mucking around with any settings
Was I supposed to uninstall my motherboards drivers?
where do i go
Just take the road left and keep going that way, past some blue fences
Alternatively you can run up to the bigg blue fence on the edge of the map near you and follow that left
Theyre just some trailer enclosures with shipping containers in them
The extract is in the corner of the map you are approaching rn, with the mall on your left and some grassy bit to your right
So just hug the wall on your right and the exit is where the road turns to go outside the map
Under highway is North
No gtb he came out of oli
ah
Look along the road, away from the blocked highway
So that the sign is to your right
yes
and i wen left
all the way down
to a highway
underneath it rn
and its not extracting me
Ye, now follow that wall to your right all the way
so leave the highway?
Hopefully that helps you
yknow
Yeah you are in the bottom left corner
The exit is in bottom right
to show u what i see
its like a circle
wtih a crossheir
on the wall
and an arrow points up
does that mean anythin
oh
i think i found it
anothe highway
with red trains
i foudn it
Oh, you went along the main highway? Yeah then you went north, and are close to north exit
And now that you found North exit, the South exit for future reference is the opposite corner of the map
idk if interchange is worth it by myself
Itâs worth it
You just need to play it
Just like factory, it can be worth it, but only if you know the map, the hot spots, the loot, etc
But IC is safer, and more sustainable
Fac is shit, you die a lot and theres not much loot unless you kill stuff which aggroes the entire map to you
And if theres even 1 geared person on Fac they will most likely hunt you down since its so small
Congrats!
time to use the Big Gear set i saved for
in a labs run
and either make another 300k
or lose it all
Good luck!
Anyone selling a reasonable modded HK?
@slim dawn pretty questionable gameplay my guy....

New Mobo 570x Aorus elite and 3700x. Everything's plugged in correctly, CPU power, main power. Led + & - pins and power switch, CPU aio fan plugged into CPU header. System fan (back) plugged into system fan header. Tried graphics card to display video and built in CPU video still no dice. Also now. All lights and fans will turn on but after 10 seconds fans on Mobo turn off then come back on, then after that Mobo fans shut off.
Any suggestions? I wanna play tarkov so bad
Everything worked before I upgraded
What's your power supply unit?
You got the RAM positioned correctly?
Also check your mobo's handbook, if any lamps turn on it can tell you what they're indicating.
850 modular evga
Blah blah something like that
Can try and re set the ram. I have it in the optimal position
Usually new motherboards need them in a 1 3 or 2 4 configuration.
If you have 4 pieces, try only 2 at a time.
2 atm I'll switch them for memes and verify
I've recently gone through a month-long hassle with a defective motherboard. Somehow my CPU pins kept getting magically bent when I sent it in for repair.
Ram
Had to re-seat it
What the hell lol
So protip everyone, same thing with Dell 780's I fix at work. Ram in then out first đ
Damn I'm good.
Was it not inserted completely? Or wasn't your RAM seated correctly?
It wanted seated in the correct spot for the 3rd time đ
Probably not plugged in completely I swear these DAMN RAM modules
All the way snapped in twice I do this stuff to dell PC's at my job atleast 3 times a week
You think you're bending your mobo enough already but they just dont stick in shut even when you press them hard
Mmmm that's the tricky part ive been trying to think about when I do quick fixes for computers. You'd think that there's some reason why, when the levers on the side fully fully snap in, there should be plenty of contact on the sides for the Mobo to register it. But I made sure it didn't half snap in both times
Tbh. Not sure the reason.
Sounds like someone didn't get premium gamergirl RAM đ
Good luck playing games when your RAM don't have RGB lighting đ
Got an rbg power supply so I knew that wasn't the issue
Whoa whoa
I didn't know I was talking to a real gamer

Nothing. I'd say common sense is at play here.
"Hey all you total strangers, let me make you an offer that sounds too good to be true!"
well u wanna be the one to find out?
I'll be alright.
Also being kind of weirdly desperate to hook someone doesn't help either.
Not saying you're a fishy dude, but you're giving off wicked fishy vibes.

DIES
willasaures or whatever your name is sorry for killing you in labs
@tawny glacier I tried D&D and really wanted to like it, but couldn't get into it after multiple tries. Do you have any other suggestions for interesting board games?
I'll be totally honest I haven't played much board games other than roleplaying stuff
Ah
Talisman is really good though, IMO
It's a fantasy adventure game but uses a board and cards and stuff like a "normal" boardgame
Being mute it's always been simpler to play digital stuff since communicating is so much easier
Makes sense
I love the concept of games like Secret Hitler and Alias but oof
You ever tried Magic Maze? I played it recently with a few friends and one of the central concepts is that you're not allowed to talk.
Oh, Googling it I can definitely say I've seen it but nope, haven't played it
I don't have any local friends since I moved, so board games are on short supply
There are four characters on the board that you have to guide through a labyrinth. Each player can only move a character in one direction, and there's a time limit.
No talking allowed.
Just a game piece that you have to slap onfront of somebody to get their attention. You're not allowed to point at the board either
It's pretty fun
My gf's into board games more than me but long-distance oof
.<
Cards against humanity
Well hopefully you guys can be closer soon
We get to meet once every blue moon, whenever there's a good sale on flight tickets
Also out of interest, what made you have interest in D&D and do you have any idea why it didn't stick?
Asking mostly since I find a lot depends on the playgroup, DM and there's actually plenty of systems other than D&D that fulfill other types of gameplay better
It sounds like something that I would like and a lot of people I know play it. The game just moves so incredibly slowly it takes forever to get around to having a turn or having much happen. At least that's how it was when I tried.
Like, with 4 players and a DM it took like 15 minutes for it to get back to me each time
Ah. Yeah, pacing can vary a lot
I'm used to the slower pacing since I run my games text-only which naturally progress slower as people type slower than they speak most of the time
But some D&D games go pretty quick, usually it depends on the players
Like my gf likes to take ages to play out her turns because she always runs into the crisis of "I dont know whats good here" and overthinks for a solid 5 minutes before deciding to slap something with a basic attack or something
lol
Took her a few months of consistent play for me to coach that habit out of her
And in the current campaign I'm hosting we have 6 players, and one of the group members had a really hard time joining the out of combat RP stuff
The combination of the DnD version and Group are what make it good. 8V
I threw him into a few spotlight situations to show him that interaction can be fun, and occasionally ask him what he's doing to keep him along in the more RP heavy less fighty sections of the game
But yeah it's a combination of things. Some parties also have more emphasis on the fiction or story, and others on the mechanics and combat
Maybe I just have to try with a different group or DM
D&D is actually a really crap role playing game, since it borrows so heavily from war games
But it's a good middleground that most people can find something in that they enjoy
Meanwhile there's much more narrative oriented systems that have broader moves and focus on the rule of cool over meticulous calculations, like the FATE systems
And then there's the full rule autism Pathfinder for example
And Burning Wheel is a game that's a medieval low fantasy setting but puts emphasis on characters and social interactions over video game style flow of events, while maintaining astonishing complexity
Etc, etc
huh
D&D has a fair amount of history as a very computer-like dungeon crawler with all emphasis on combat and statistics, so while I feel 5e is in a pretty good spot, it's clearly not something truly built for the purpose which a lot of the modern style of players run it as
And ironically for being the one most people know and is the first people try to get into, D&D (even 5e) is actually really illogical with some stuff and requires a lot of knowing one-off knowledge about the rules
I've heard that
I like introducing people to ttRPGs through a game called Dungeon World, it's basically a similar premise to D&D but written by someone who actually understands how to efficiently teach people through the actual gameplay loop and simplified to a point there is more room for narrative but not so abstract as to feel like just a story as opposed to a game
@tawny glacier Which kind of player are you:
Shows up with a 23-page backstory, a full-body, full-color printout fan-art of their character, and a character with the worst equipment, but itâs OK because itâs for the plot.
No backstory, no plot, just a computer, the meta, and a whole lot of âAcktshuallyâ for the DM.
Shows up with a talking magical frog because the DM gave in and said âfuck it, do what you want.â
Or the person that ends up as a magical frog because itâs the fourth time the DM has decided to kill their character off.
Looool
Because thatâs the kind of people I play with
Sadly I don't even remember the last time I was a player character in D&D
But that's okay since I enjoy hosting
Hosting seems like a lot of fun, but the DM needs to either be very good at preparing
Or be witty as hell and think on the fly
I haven't played a lot of DnD but my very first run was stellar.
I'm definitely more of the latter. In the current campaign that's been running almost a year now we've had probably more twists than Game of Thrones, but I've spent probably <10 hours on prep total
I just do everything on the fly except battle maps
And even those I do on the fly if it's small enough I can draw it on the tabletop
Oof I cant direct up images in this channel
We were a group of kinda'-sorta'-buzzed friends, we encounter a closed door. A closed door. Buddy wants to kick it down 'cause why not. Rolls a 1 and breaks his foot. Then someone casually walks up and opens the door in front of him.
Deciding between grabbing a mug of hot chocolate or getting cereal... help me decide
Cereal will sustain you more.
And just for comparison's sake, this was that same map drawn on the fly a day earlier during breakfast https://i.imgur.com/L5ELzh9.png
And as for battle maps they're just simple scale references so people know where to move and shit like this
I shit those out on Dungeon Painter Studio before the session if I know where the players are gonna end up
And ngl I admit sometimes when the players are talking amongst themselves I sometimes make those too during the session
Also losing to inanimate objects is always hilarious
Our party's cleric hit his dick on some hardwood floorboards because he ran down a spiral staircase in the dark and didnt see a missing step
LOL
The most ironic part: Everyone else in the party is playing a character with at least 60ft. darkvision
And yeah I run the game with the idea of whatever happens, happens, no point planning ahead since I can always come up with a logical next step, and planning too much I would end up railroading the players or just not using stuff because the players decide to do something totally different instead
Most places and stuff don't really have anything planned until a player asks about it
ShrĂśdinger's worldbuilding
Signing off for tonight. To...day?
Tomorning
Tomorning.
Have a good one Speed
My friends had a campaign where they had a cannibal chef. He was locked in the brig of a vessel with another prisoner. The Cannibal murdered the other prisoner, chewed his fingers down to the bone, and used the splintered finger bones as makeshift lockpicks. Their telling of the story was hilarious
@bronze walrus Good night! đ¤
Much love, friends â¤
Lol, that sounds like something that might've been in Divinity OS2
My players so far haven't been insanely creative with situations yet, but I can sense them slowly getting there, as they get more used to the systems and abstracting the rules
And I like throwing them weird niche magical items to wrap their brain around
@agile hollow Just wanted to let you know I tried that toast w/cinnamon, sugar, and butter. It was delicious.
Cinnamon toast is great
An example of an item they got quite early on from a gnoll cultist was a bead necklace that makes the wearer unable to breathe, but also not needing to breathe
Neat
However as a side effect they are unable to make any sound with their vocal cords, and as such, are silenced. And the effect takes 1d100 minutes to wear off after removing the necklace so it can't be abused in combat
I'm excited to hear how they used this
So far they've used it to:
Have one person walk to the bottom of a lake to fetch something from a wrecked ship
Sneak up on a hostile sorcerer and slipping the beads on before subduing them, meaning they can neither yell for help nor cast most spells
Shut the party's cleric up because he was madcuzbad
And put the necklace on a party member who accidentally drank a truth serum so they couldn't spill important information
Good uses!
Ye
It would be useful for silencing a watchman or something as well if the party can't sneakily 1 hit them before they raise the alarm
Oh! And the rogue failed to lockpick a strongbox and poison gas spilled out, so they put the beads on and rushed the box outside to douse it in water
Smart thinking
Ye, my gf (playing the rogue) is good at the kind of creative thinking but is awful with combat đ
Meanwhile the party's sorcerer's approach to anything is: Can we set it on fire?
Well, or course you can set it on fire!
And my go to was diplomacy
That solves everything
My answer is always; Of course you can. The question is, whether you should.
Explosive combustion occurs
Helps that I have a homebrew rule about material interaction
So for example the wizard spell "grease" can be hit by a firebolt from the sorcerer and it'll create a burning pitch that cuts the spell's duration in half but anything inside the fire takes 1d6 per turn
To spice things up at one point you should have a magnesium fire that the players need to/should put out. Water only makes those fires bigger.
I like that rule
Have them all receive brand new canteens as a reward, just beforehand.
I have a few homebrew rules that spice up things, and a few that remove pointless stuff from the game
Like I dont really apply the "traveling" rules because they're just boring slog, and I don't use alignments for anything but optional flavor
Also, is nobody going to point out the fact that Korgi just perfectly described DM-Player interactions in TTRPGS?
Guys, want to have a crack at the riddle I threw the players three weeks ago as part of some viking trials?
It's very simple
Bring it
The runes set in front of you have the numbers 9, 8, 4, 1 and 10 etched on them. Rillim looks up to Aleks, then speaks: "I didn't order these often. Would you?"
Do we need any other information, my go to is color
Nope, everything necessary is contained within the riddle as given
And the default assumption is everything's localized into English, just in case it has to do with words or idioms etc.
English is great for idioms
Yeah, I really don't even know where to start on the riddle
It took the players about half an hour to crack it between the 6 of them
Want the solution?
Nine, Eight, Four, One & Ten are the numbers presented.
The solution is: 1, 4, 10, 8, 9
One, Four, Ten, Eight, Nine
:P Sorry, I forget how Discord spoiler tags function
I don't think I would have gotten that
O, neat
Two of them
wow rood
What's that?
The innocent onebelisk that has nothing to do with the plot that magically stands upright unsupported
But if any of your players gets too curious, and tries to tip it over
Curiosity kills the cat with a boss fight
Lol Im watching the YT vid on it rn
Uh huh
A friend of mine tried to pull it on us, I just sat back and watched as the werewolf gave it his all
Sounds like a great troll, but not like anything I'd use in my games lol
I try to have a point to most things, and the point is never to just confuse and frustrate the players
Then again it was part of a Edgy Instakill Dungeon (tm) adventure so makes sense it'd be there đ
Sounds like a fun dungeon
Sounds like a good DM, how many people are normally in your campaigns?
Depends, right now the one I've been running for a long time has 6
My personal ideal number is prolly 4
Yeah I had people lining up to join the campaign but had to politely explain that they'll have the first reserve slots in case someone drops out or once I start up my next run
I told them that in person if I had a voice I could probably run a 7-8 person game, but especially in text where things take a bit longer and it's easier to talk over one another (since in text you don't hear when someone starts typing like when someone opens their mouth in person) and shit just takes long and gets weird
You do it over inter webs?
Can you just have battles with two opposing groups of players or is it not balanced properly enough for that?
I actually implemented a system for text only games, where if a player wants to "open their mouth" they just send an exclamation mark. That's it, nothing else necessary, just an exclamation mark. Then they can edit their message into the post without getting talked over
@silk trail It depends
I play online yes. I've ran games over text only, and games where I communicate via text and players are in a voice call with me
Our campaign started like that, and the computer fucker just cheesed the hell out of 5E until everyone was buzzkilled
Itâs fun, but only if you donât have meta nerds
For the average joe, itâs fun
I have the foot rule of = PvP only happens if both parties wants it. If you do stupid team-harming fuckery, you get a strike. Three strikes, the cosmic elder god eats your brain in your sleep and you roll a new character that isn't a dipshit
Although if the group wanted a backstabby campaign I could totally run one designed with it in mind. But that's generally not the case
Well, itâs late. Iâm headed to rest. Good luck with your campaign Korgi. Sounds like a good setup. @silk trail, my only advice is that do not initiate pvp with a mega-nerd, theyâll whoop your ass before you can pull a sword
Thanks lol, have a good one
Good night!

Your party enters a cave with a mysterious gas wafting through the air. A wooden barricade blocks your path just meters from the cave opening.
Pyromancer: Can I burn it?
You:...of course!
Entire cave violently explodes
Basically the foot rule I use for my campaigns unless specified otherwise is uhh something along the lines of
No super instea death for mistakes?
Shit is dangerous. Don't assume you have plot armor. However, I (the DM) am not playing against you (the players), I am running an adventure you are on. It's not fun for you nor me when you die. Please travel with caution and keep your wits about you, but I am not out to kill you with cheap trickery.
Good foot rule to have.
Like the players pushed into a gnoll fortress relatively early on in the campaign against their better knowledge, what ended up happening was they stormed the keep to run into an entire warband, and they were subdued and thrown into the meat pit
The meat pit
They had a substory about escaping from the gnoll settlement and trying to find their stuff, and got most of it back but lost their gold and trinkets that were stored in the treasury they had no business trying to breach
Nice job with that
And like there's been a few boss encounters who could've potentially mangled the everliving shit out of them
But they played it smart, and I keep everything (literally everything they might feasibly run into) at a damage treshold that will not one shot overkill anyone in the party
So like the party's Wizard had 16 health, which meant the hard cap for any trap that could feasibly exist, intended for them to spring or not, would only deal up to about 30 damage, being two points short of being able to oneshot
Yes, even if it was a nitroglycerin storage chamber and you cast a fireball in the middle of it. You'd be downed and dying, but not instantly dead
Because mechanics like that are just bullshit in a game where people are attached to their characters
agreed
And I try to make most bossfights like sneaky things that are not just stat checks like some things in the monster manual
The first bossfight they had was a gnoll cultist that completed their ritual and was unable to die, as their spirit had left their body and moved into the torn-out heart at the ritual site
The cultist's moves consisted of plinking eldritch blast with the enhancement that knocks back anyone it hits, and trying to grapple and push away anyone attacking it, and the players took like 4-5 rounds to realize the way I'm describing the gnoll's reactions, there's something more to this and they went after the heart in the nearby cellar they just emerged from
I love "Unable to die" enemies. So many inventive way to dispose of them.
And another enemy with a similar design later on (since I was now aware the players could think in this kind of scenario) was when they ran into a Ghost at a level much earlier than they had any chances beating
However the ghost was hinted at as being a charred knight, fumes emanating from beneath their visor, their sword leaving an ethereal trail of sparks as they silently glided across the room
And just a couple rooms ago they had ran into a malformed burnt skeleton and they had the background info of there being some kind of otherworldly corruption taking hold of the area
So the cleric had the idea to go throw radiant damage at the corpse, cleansing it and banishing the ghost
It was a fun encounter since the cleric ate a single swing from the ghost's spectral greatsword and aged 20 years instead of taking any damage, indicating they need to fuck right on away from there
And of course at the end of the dungeon was a friendly entity that offered to undo any negative effects the run had had on the group, because to cure a ghost's aging touch you need to be like 7 levels higher than the party was
But yeah as you might be able to tell lol I really enjoy ttRPG's, particularly the creative aspects of them
I can tell. I can see now why you've got queue's to get into your games!
Have you ever played Rimworld?
It's lends itself to a nice RP environment while still maintaining a challenge
I think I have it, I havent played it though
It looks great mechanically but the graphics put me off of it, it feels like a really complex flash game
I highly recommend it! A bit of a time sink with a learning curve, but it's great.
The subreddit has a bunch of neat stores about the game (so many human skin hats...) and there's a great comic based off of the game too: https://srgrafo.com/comic
Lol
Yeh, Ill certainly try it at some point, since it borrows a lot from Dwarf Fortress but making it more accessible
That's how i've described it in the past. Dwarf Fortress but playable for the average person.
Still has great depth
Lately I've been on a Darkest Dungeon spree, wanting to finish it before 2 comes out
And DD has a lot of great mods for it too
Ahhhhh
I haven't finished a run yet
I keep drifting off to other games before I do
I've already restarted once
Probably sounds weird but I like playing DD when Im trying to wind down to sleep
Maybe I'm just secretly a necromancer but I get unbelievably relaxed when playing Diablo 1, Darkest Dungeon or doing Barrows in OSRS
And yeah sure does, but I have the music off anyway
I usually listen to some fuzzy white noise like black metal or doom
Or some acoustic guitar stuff
DOOM has some pretty perfect monster slaying music
Well I wouldnt listen to the DOOM ost before bed, I was referring to doom metal as a music genre
But yeah that's awesome as well, Mick Gordon is fucking amazing
Have you heard the Killer Instinct soundtrack?
Multiple styles of music, all done as absolute bangers
I don't think so. I don't really listen to music but I'll hear these out
The first few second immediately gave me flashbacks to the Quake 3 soundtrack
It reminds me of Unreal Tournament mixed with some modern liquid DnB
Yeah
And prolly the most iconic theme from that game
Composed by Mick Gordon.
Maybe next time i'm playing DD i'll fire those up, thanks!
:D I would suggest it for maybe something more action oriented
But yeah great soundtrack
One last song from it just because it's a really good-ass hype tune and totally unlike the others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Gt5KgJtwcY
Composed by Mick Gordon (feat. Ali Edwards).
It's like I'm at a rave
Hah
...have you head the song "SEAGULLS! (Stop It Now)"? It's completely unlike anything you posted but it always puts a smile on my face.
This song sounds like it would go well in a cyberpunk race
Yee
Omg this seagulls thing is this
I've seen/heard this đ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7CQW_-xvzc This is the song I use as the "unofficial theme" for my D&D campaign, playing it every time at the start of session when I'm having the "what happened last time" recap
Just such an atmospheric piece with a nice acoustic guitar
Just finished it. Good pick.
:D
I also use a lot of Wardruna and game soundtracks like God of War, Dragons Dogma or such
Since our campaign is, while having its comic relief moments, mostly dark high fantasy
Hey, i looking some help, i have volume with everything apart from tarkov in game sound
any solutions?
i love bf4
@jagged glacier I have your stuff
black ops 3
because i don't want to reinstall black ops 1
25 minutes of editing leads to this
@rotund oyster go ahead with out me lol im gonna try out a game
anyone want to group up pretty new player
@weary forge You down to play tonight I'll be home from work in like 2 hours
Anyone here?
Is buying in games items with money against the T&C of the game?
If so, it's seller violates the rule or buyer?
Will we get ban for this?
Just asking because it's hard to farm

Uh very yes
Buyer and seller would be banned
Why would anyone waste 50 cents on 100R just to be banned
@ebon tusk
i am wondering
why you even think about that bullshit
because money in tarkov is easy as fuck
the whole economy is still work in progress
and money is like everywhere
and when you are actual farming you are doing somethign really, really wrong
after a wipe, or as a new player, scav interchange is your friend, it makes easy 150-300k in 15mins
why farm if you can buy very chep pant here from me
and 150k is a newbie friendly loadout, 600k is a high gear like loadout
i am doing 8-12 months passive money by just using the fleamarket and play as pmc
even if i hate it, as a hatchling on shoreline you are making easy money as fuck with a little invest in the right keys
thats a good tl;dr guide for money making as newbie: https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/bnnll6/some_tips_for_players_who_struggle_to_get_money/
and, i mean, investing money in a game which does get wiped all 3 months is very dumb too
Theyâll get banned anyways
in adition to that, you wont be a better player because oif better gear
Lul
I heard this game was pretty bad
didn't dayz finally get a workshop?
@smoky grotto just close your app too keep your mad gums big mate
@smoky grotto get the mad minecraft maps and we can play bo3 big mate
@near moon quad alpha
hey, so I have heard about this game and saw it on twitch a few times. Does anyone know a good explanation video? or maybe tell me if you would like to?
(i'm thinking about buying it)
I love it
I hate it
I love it
I hate it.
I love it.
etc
If you like realistic games, go for it. Playable solo, but also nice with friends
Now's not the best time, since the learning curve is steepened by the fact that many more players are running higher grade gear
but could you tell me what the purpose is? is it winning or just getting 'the best loot'
A little bit of both
There are quests in the game to give a sense of purpose
Otherwise it's killing people to level up and unlock better gear to keep killing.
So it's FFA + quests?
Doesn't have to be FFA, there are some rare occurrences of strangers teaming up
Although it tends to be a low gear person being spared by a high geared person.
why would you spare a 'low geared' person?
Pity/empathy
If they have low gear, they might not have the money to buy better gear.
It is possible to be poor in the game.
Other times, the player is simply kind
alright
Any other questions? Ask away
I played csgo for the last 5 years and I just feel like I wanna play something else and the thing that holds be back right now; on stream it looks a bit boring sometimes. It doesn't look like there is a lot of action you know? might be me idk
When's wipe boys

There's only so many players that can be in a map, so there can only be so much action.
There are waves of AI Scavengers as well as player-controlled scavengers that spawn in waves
how is the AI?
They all have internal skill modifiers that affect how skilled they are in combat plus the gear they have
But they can be a bit wonky at times. They're known for targeting your legs, which will cause you to limp, or your head, which will kill you if you don't have a helmet w/faceshield on
It's being worked on
There are also Raider scavs, which spawn exclusively on the map called Labs. They are intentionally skilled and always have military-grade gear.
There are also scav bosses, who are kind of an in between of normal scavs and Raiders.
hmm okay, it hears quite difficult xd
The normal scavs are just civilians trying to survive, the Boss scavs and their guards are ex military/police, and the raiders are scavengers who appear to have "extra tactical training"
Yes, well, the game is not supposed to be easy.
On one of the first screens, it is stated you will die a lot.
Which is true. Death is a large part of the game.
Sorry, was busy
But yes, if you die, you lose all the loot on you. There is a system in place where you can insure items with traders. If you die but the items were not taken out of the raid, then you get your items back
You also get a small secure container that allows you to keep items, even after death
Upgrading your game version to a certain version gives a better container, and there are also two containers you can get in game via quests.
why don't i have permission to talk in irl weapons?
@somber tulip is my favourite ginger.
ew shut up
and a third container you can purchase with trader levels.
also the game goes from 0 to 100 and back to 0 in terms of action in a single raid.
and it's basically RNG if you find a player, unless you're specifically hunting for them.
anyone trade red keycard got a good container? not alpha
nah that vaeriah guy hes a muff muncher
@royal current hoe speel ik dit spel zodat ik ook in de verte kan kijken
Dit spel laad niet goed in
English in general chats please.
You understand
heard next wipe in next month is this true?
Nope.
We've got no set date at the moment.
Any time you hear someone say when the wipe is, come on here and type !Wipe
That's the most accurate answer there is.
!wipe
