First of all - congratulations! We finally did it and that was a huge relief for everybody!

Overloading issues (profile load failures, long matching times etc.) - YES. We broke all our records and got backend overloaded. Now we are working on stabilization - adding new servers, fixing overload causes.

Fixing different stuff and uploading hotfixes

Performances on military base are not what we expected (something went wrong and we are fixing it)

We are reading your responses and making hot changes to refine progression and balance (this is pretty normal especially with such a big update)

Powering up with your positive feedback and ready to go further! We will make balanced updates within reasonable periods of time. Sorry, that we kept you waiting for so long!

Hello there, Tarkovians!

We decided to write down quick status of what is going on and what is planned to do until the end of this December.

So, right now, as we mentioned earlier, mostly we are working on the fixes. Some of them are really hard to reproduce so it is taking some time.

Current plan is to have one more (or maybe two) small patches before the end of this year with:

  • Fixes of some most annoying bugs (for example infinite healing, different crash and disconnects causes)
  • Ongoing reduction of freezes and stuttering
  • Different map fixes (physical collider fixes, culling fixes etc)
  • Rework of stationary weapon positions on Reserv Base
  • New content (clothing, weapons, gear - the amount is being determined right now)

And more

Other ongoing processes:

  • Loot table changes
  • Economy system testing and balancing
  • Scav AI testing and balancing
  • Upgrading of server infrastructure

So, this is it. In the end of this year we will post annual report, where we will tell about what do we plan to do in the next year!

We believe many of you encounter backend issues lately (login issues, disconnects, error 200, 1000, 500 etc.). And many of you just saying - "just buy more servers".

Right now backend server infrastructure consists around 150 servers and this number is rising constantly.

Unfortunately you can't solve some critical bugs or infrastructure problems only with server number increase.

Many issues popping up only with high load testing - which is going on right now.

As it was said before - player numbers are rising fast, load is rising and the chances of critical malfunctions are also rising.

So, that's what we are doing right now 24/7 - we receive a failure - patch it, receive new - patch it and so on. We are refining the system.

So, just to summarize:

-yes, we know about every issue with servers (we are monitoring situation 24/7)
-we are actively working on modifying current backend infrastructure LIVE (it also could lead to game failures unfortunately)
-it's not caused by DDOS or any other attack (although it happens on top of everything sometimes too)
-it's not caused by hardware problems right now (although it happens on top of everything too)
-Stabilizing backend is the most prioritized task and it looks like full scale investigation within the backend/client system
-Adding new game servers is also prioritized task (added x2 servers already from the start of this year)

Added:

-Interchange location has been reworked
-Interchange location lighting has been updated
-New interactive objects, new location exfils
-Various problems with culling, physical colliders have been fixed
-New mechanics, overweight. The character receives various debuffs while carrying a certain amount of weight (increased equipment noise, movement speed limits, increased stamina consumption, etc.)
-Fatigue effect debuff has been added, which appears if the character keeps the stamina at a low level for a long time. Energy consumption increases with this effect.
-Now The character's stamina indicator is divided into arms and legs. The arm's stamina is consumed when aiming, throwing grenades and fighting with melee weapons. The legs stamina is consumed during sprinting, jumping, changing body positions, etc. Also, the legs stamina starts to drain when the hand's stamina drops to zero.

We are making and made several changes already:

  1. Ingame money disappearing bug must be fixed already (we are thinking about compensation for those who lost money).
  2. Fleamarket gate is lowered to 10 LVL
  3. Increased weights for overweight effects (now overweight starts from 40 kg and blends to 70 kg (was 30 and 60 kg) (yes, we can tweak it, yes we said that we will tweak it during tests and balancing), increased stamina capacities and so on.
  4. We did something to lower headbobbing effect while being overweight (also this headbobbing will be linked to headbobbing slider in settings soon)

So, after the dust has settled, We decided to give you current status - what is going on and what's planned for the patch 12.5.

First of all, no matter what, thank you for your feedback related to new features - we did a lot of balancing changes to weight system, we fought headbobbing problem and currently working on hotfixes related to all the major problems you described recently.

Also we are continuing to modify servers, currently testing new load balancing system to increase the amount of free rooms to play, adding new servers in different regions. Actively working with BattlEye.

So, the next 0.12.5 patch will be 95% fixes and optimizations. It will include a couple of features like quick after raid healing, post-effects filters, no additional content.

That's it! As we said before - we plan to do patches every month. So it will be not so long till 0.12.5.

Thank you for support! The game will be more complex, we will introduce many features that will require testing and changes - don't forget this!

As you know , we have Sherpa (tutors ). Every day they are teaching new players which require help with progressing in Tarkov.
For participation you need to make a video which includes tutor and the new player (tutor does not have to be a verified Sherpa). Video shall be less than 15 minutes long.

Friends! The first Escape from Tarkov tournament took place yesterday in a unique for eSports events- Bingo! format, developed and prepared together by the Twitch Rivals team and our studio. The winners and prize-winners of the European and American stages are determined and deserve only praise. All participants performed very worthy. Keep it up, we are proud of you and our incredible community!

During the tournament, all spectators had the opportunity to get Drops from the following categories of items - Common, Rare and Legendary. For teams completing certain tasks and closing Bingo lines, viewers received Common and Rare drops, and on the Twitch Rivals channel there was a chance to get Legendary. So, we issued 3294803 drops (2548077 | 705594 | 41132) with a total value of almost 198 billion in-game rubles, of which more than 300 thousand unique items with Twitch Rivals logos.

Unfortunately, not everything went smoothly and as planned. The tournament was postponed twice due to recent events taking place in the world, but the preparations went on non-stop for the past few weeks. Due to various circumstances, the judges from the Twitch Rivals team made mistakes, for this reason the rules and conditions for completing some tasks were not completely transparent, and the results could both please and disappoint. That's why it was the FIRST experience to work on bugs, break in ideas and hold the next events in new, even more exciting formats. Our Twitch friends will for sure consider all your and our wishes and comments.

It is always nice to win, it is an honor to take third place, and silver often goes with bitterness, especially when gold was so close. For this reason, we want to specially note the teams that took second places at their stages. The teams in the composition of Honeymad/Aimlul/C_a_k_e and Lvndmark/Worrun/Willerz showed incredible results and the will to win, and their participation will be definitely remembered. Obviously, your victories are ahead.

Nikita Buyanov stopped by at one of the popular Escape from Tarkov streamers - Pestily, where he told some insider information regarding upcoming plans for the game and answered some questions. We present to your attention a short clipping of the main topics that Nikita discussed with streamers.

• Information about the wipe will probably be released next week.
• RAID episode 4 is planned in mid-May.
• The next patch 0.12.5 will contain the settings of graphic post-effects. Filters from Nvidia will become unavailable for use.
• The 1911 pistol will be in 0.12.6.
• Kriss Vector - most likely will appear in 0.12.7.
• UMP is in the plans, but there are no exact dates yet.
• Boss on the Shorerile - The orderly is scheduled for 0.12.7
• Rework of skills - the first changes will be in the patch 0.12.7.
• The compass is planned in patch 0.12.7 or 0.12.8.
• Steam Audio - will appear in 0.12.6, this will be the first iteration and it is aimed at improving the quality of sound positioning in the game.
• About 50,000 cheaters were blocked in March. Developers work daily with BattleEye.

• Nikita and the developers do not quite approve the ping limit. For example, due to high ping, players cannot play with friends in different parts of the world. ● The wipe will take place in 0.12.6, however, we will save the progress of examining items and weapon presets.
● Before wipe, for 3-4 days, there will be pre-wipe events, info about them will be reported closer to the point.
● After the wipe, at the flea market, you will only allowed to sell items that have found in raid status.
● "Run through" status-will reset the “found in raid " status from items.
● Patch 0.12.5 will be without content, it contains fixes, optimization and new mechanics (quick treatment by therapist, mouse sensitivity depending on the multiplicity of the sight, and so on).
● It is planned to rework loot on locations, its spawn locations, and the loot pools themselves.
● Random places with loot are planned. Also, it is planned to introduce a feature so that the AI will protect places with valuable loot.
● The first part of skill system rework will be in 0.12.7.

Added:

-Dogtags taken from PMCs should now have “found in raid status”. This status can be lost the same way as it is for other items.
-Added prioritization of items for crafting and building in the hideout. Items without the “found in raid” status are used first, while items with the "found in raid" status will be used later.

Fixed:

-One of the bugs causing FPS drop on interface screens
-Sharpness change of shadow cascades, now the transition between different shadow rendering quality is smoother
-One of the spawn bugs, when some AIs on the location could be invisible to the player
-One of the bugs causing grenades explosion without sound and effects
-Flea market interface bug when an infinite loading indicator appeared on top of the menu
-Bug displaying blood drops effect on the screen if there is a character nearby that takes damage from barbed wire
-Bug of taking damage from a barrel with fire if it is hit by another player
-Bug with saving the scroll bar position when switching between merchants
-Bug when the last outdated item wouldn’t disappear after error
-Spamming error when extracting through car after grenade explosion
-Error 1508 when adding an offer to the flea market with items added in 12.6 patch
-Error.Collider.ContainsPoint.GetVolumeByPosition (or .isolatedVolumes)
-Error during creation of character EXCEPTION: System.InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains no matching element

Fixes related to binaural audio:

-Kicking door out sound is now less muffled

You will need to choose one of the options and tell the story:
1 "One day in the life of a PMC”
2 "One day in the life of a Scav”

How to participate?

  1. Choose the topic that you like the most (PMCs / Scav).
  2. Record and upload video on chosen topic.
  3. Make sure that the video does not exceed 10 minutes in length. Shot in HD/FullHD. It also should have a good visual quality.
  4. Make sure to include "Escape from Tarkov - one day of your life” in the title of your video.
  5. Send the link to the community topic on our Discord server channel for your submissions is called #743099842766700675
  6. The video must be created after the start of the contest, old videos and reuploads will not be taken into account.

Prizes for participation in the contest:

BattleState Games via our Escape From Tarkov Emissary from the Philippines aka Neomass wants you to please consider supporting this CHARITY EVENT held by local EFT-streamers Jigstermon and @sl0wkey

CONTEXT:
On November 1, 2020, the northern island of Luzon in my home country of the Philippines was hit by Typhoon Goni/Rolly, a Category 5 super typhoon. Less than 2 weeks later on November 11, 2020, another Typhoon by the name of Vamco/Ulysses devastated my country with both disasters displacing hundreds of thousands of Filipinos and dealing billions of pesos in damage to infrastructure and agriculture.
In partnership with my local medical school, Cebu Doctors' University - College of Medicine, and its student organizations, we are launching Project AYUDA - Typhoon Ulysses Relief Response. Personally, I want to able to do my part in helping those in need and give back to my local community with the best of my abilities.

THE PLAN:
We will be doing a 4-day charity livestream (schedule will be posted below) while playing #EscapeFromTarkov with the goal of raising $1000 (Php 46,000-50,000) in Direct Donations via StreamLabs for the victims of both Typhoon Goni and Vamco. We highly implore our community, the Frag Fam, and other people who will watch the stream to STOP SENDING STARS/BITS towards the STREAMERS during this event, and let's focus on spreading our love and generosity to those who need it the most. I believe in this community, in compassion, and in the will of the human spirit.

All donations will be logged on StreamLabs, and at the end of the charity event, We will forward all donations via GCash (local money transfer app) to Ms. Athena V. ● 21:00-01:00 MSK - 1 stage among EMEA teams (Europe, Middle East, Asia);
● 01:00-05:00 MSK - 2 stage among NA teams (North America).

The tournament will be held in the already familiar BINGO format. Additional information on teams, rules, and the format of the tournament will be published later on. The prize pool will be $60000.
