personally I use tac30 instead of vudu/razor most of the time, because the x6 is too much for me (I want to snipe, not perform a colonoscopy!), but ymmw, and if you need that extra zoom (sniping from dome for instance), bender is a nice alternative that costs half the price of vudu/razor

Brand new player to Tarkov and was watching videos about doing “scav runs” on the Factory map. The one thing I noticed was that the players in the vendors were killing EVERYTHING, including other players who were scavs as well. I thought that is a huge no-no or is the Factory map the exemption to the rule?

if you plan to play this game for some time and upgrade your hideout I would HIGHLY reccommend being a pacifist scav and just hiding from combat or shoot only when you know it's a PMC (usually wear armbands and have fancy tactical clothes on instead of rags)...the scav karma you gain is very good to have once you upgrade your hideout...also I would recommend avoiding playing scav while you are still low level, because every minute spent on your scav could have been spent leveling your PMC and gaining skills and XP for levels, even when you die you win something

Scav weapons are basically for selling (dismantle, sell the parts you can to mechanic or others if you need the spent money, sell the core low durability to fence if mechanic doesn't want it).

Once you have Jaeger unlocked you can buy a brand new double barrel for 8k for questing runs.

But really if you learn a good loot run on Lighthouse or stash run on Woods/Shoreline/Interchange/Customs (+ do it at night), then you make so much risk free money that you can always afford whatever guns you can buy at your traders / flea.

if you have a chance to use your VOIP and you have a micrphone and everything trying to identify players over voice can be really powerfull...and if you let them know what items oyu need for quest or something they will help you 8/10 times

so just be straight pacifist scav and it will pay off in the long run if you plan on playing scav...if you get really comfortable playing your PMC that will be your best bet

I don't know the details but the recievr is the part that has the damage but with out the flea I think the only one you can do early is the adar - I think skier sells a recievr so if you get out with one you can buy that and put all the parts in the broken one.

The way you want to look at items is: value per slot, when looking at loot a basic rule in the community would be about 10k per slot value...so when choosing to pick up a knife you're picking up 10 times less then what would be the desired amount...but picking up stuff anyway is good if you replace the low value per slot items with the better ones as you go

stacking bandages and really cheap magazines and knifes into your stash is some of the mistakes a rookie can make, but if you vendor those same items and clear your space then you're not really making a mistake since you'll learn there is more value in other stuff over time and will loot more confident when in raid knowing what you need and dont

sometimes it can be worth checking (if you have flea market) if some of the parts you found on that scav gun can be sold to players for absurd amounts because they need them for gunsmith tasks or maybe they're "meta"...sometimes stupid stuff like just a metal piece of rail for a certain gun can be 50k but the trader will give you 2k for it

The way I enjoyed playing personally was: Focused a lot on the tasks and quests, which in return gave me map knowledge since I was using the tarkov wiki to see how to complete the quests on each map...then i did scav raids for the boring "find food" quests...and i would use VOIP to state my intentions if i hear a player on the other side of the wall or something, example: I am doing a quest called QuestName and don't want to fight unless you insist
