From my experience if you get too close to a boss or raider they kill you but if you keep distance ur fine

if you are near a boss scav, most will warn you, by running up at you and shouting/flipping you off, in terms of normal scavs, if your scav karma is low, they will kill you on sight (your karma will be lowered by killing other scavs as a scav, so if you have been doing that, thats why)

no they dont, unless you have killed scavs/have bad karma as a scav

as for a level 1 loadout, i use an SKS with PS ammo, and a paca. the SKS with that ammo will punch through T3 armor and you can one tap most scavs with a headshot. the paca is to stop you getting sniped by a shotgun scav from half the map away

i like the buy 7 grey knifes of fence and buy the ump with the knifes, you can slap any grip and any sight on it and its got pretty low recoil

or like he said with the sks, its alot better if you like range fights
