This might be hard to answer briefly, but I bought the game over the weekend and have already maxed out my stash. I'm only level 4 and have only completed 1 quest. As a scav I ended up getting a few high valuable things like a bronze lion, a diary, a gas analyzer, some thermometer. Are these for quests? To make space I just sold them all. But now I also have a buncha random junk too. Also my backpack stack is maxed out and pretty much all rigs are full of ammo, mags, or health items. What should I be trying to sell versus what to keep? I even did a scav raid last night and wasn't able to keep everything since I ran out of space (also not sure if it's a bug but you can't put items back into your scav inventory after you transfer it to main stash)

Hi @fresh canyon the sound isn't perfect in its current state. One tip that helped me though: whenever you hear a gun shot in the distance you can look left and right and tell how the sound changes. This helps pinpoint shots.
The biggest problem at the moment is not being able to tell if people are below you, same level, and above you.

I usually use the Tarkov wiki to figure what to do for quests. There’s usually a section with tips for completing each objective, and you can link to each item you need to find to see how you can get it.
If it’s a particularly difficult/complicated quest, I’ll go watch a YouTube tutorial for it (Pestily has some good quest guides, but there’s a bunch of them out there).

I used to just "play the game" for the 130 days I had my account, being scav raid for guns, pmc raid when scavs on cool down, rinse, repeat, done. never got flee market, kept materials or made good in game financial decisions, leveled or accessed new dealers or quests, etc. I have the limited edition ($140) purchase of the game and I really want to make the most of it. I want to learn how to level the hideout an dealers to be more capable, know where to get the mats like bolts and duct tape, etc. Combat and raid tips, how to learn map and mechanics, the ins and outs, know what to look for on bullet types and weapon stats, how to level char skills, etc. I know it will take time to learn, but is anyone interested in helping me? Offline raids, and try to use a 3rd party website that provides maps on a second monitor or phone. Try to identify easy to spot landmarks in game and on 3rd party map to get bearings. That's what I do. Some maps are more frustrating than others

So to be concise, start with customs, and learn how keys work and what they access. Customs will be your bread and butter. For a wide variety of loot and engagement types/environments, try interchange but take the interior slow due to combat hotspots

Most are easily identifiable with things like exit signs lit up or search lights. if the extract is green when you double tap O, it is accessible. Opposite is true if it is red. Some are timed, hence the color coding. Some will be accessible 24/7. They are usually in map corners or visually identifiable areas. With a 3rd party map, try to find one with labels on extracts. I recommend using either https://www.gamemaps.co.uk/game/tarkov/ or https://mapgenie.io/tarkov/maps/customs

@minor rain Also, don't be afraid to do pacifistic or rush through raids on scav if you have a prioritized extract. Getting familiarized and getting gear for pmc is good enough of a goal. If you really want to learn and survive, setting goals is a highly recommended thing to do.

I use horde amount and random difficulty for learning combat against scavs to compensate for the lack of player combat in offline. Listen to the rest of the users here for scavs being accurate to your usual experience online

Scav AI is pretty good at teaching you not to peak the same angles twice. The scavs first shots are a courtesy, after that they switch the aim bot on.

nah dehydration only gives pain/tremors now, fatigue (being out of energy) does lower your bodyparts, but if your metabolism/health skill are shite you will just straight up fall over and die after a good 5 minutes

a good way to level up your vitality/health is asking a friend to shoot you in the leg with flechette, getting a heavy bleed and using propital to heal yourself passively

Also no one mentioned that there is a cool down for leveling skills. Once you earn a certain amount of xp for a skill it starts a 5 minute timer and any xp gained in those 5 minutes are reduced by a lot

Question. When someone's blacked limb is shot, does the extra damage spread out equally between all limbs (so if 5 limbs remain, each take 20% of the bullet's extra damage) or is it spread out in proportion to how much health that part represents (so head takes 35/(440-black limb's HP))?
I have a feeling it's the latter because otherwise the toz can 2 shot kill someone by legging them

Each limb (anything outside of thorax/head) has a different % to spread damage to the rest of the body. Arms is .75, legs is 1x and stomach is 2x
The damage after it's blacked is equally spread to each surviving part

Ah.. so a TOZ with devastator shells deals 198 damage, after it blacks out a leg consuming 65 damage the bullet still has 133 damage left, spread out equally between 5 limbs the head takes about 26 damage. So another shot will deal at least another 26 damage to the head killing the person.
Conclusion, TOZ can 2shot someone from their legs

legs is 1x multiplier, 198x2=396 so they're really fucked up, but not dead
