a benefit from that is it makes your lazer go ---- so you use the ADAD to cut off their heads essentially

Steam audio is a layer put atop the current system
until they full switch to steam audio your basically listening to the game through a steam audio filter LOL

If ya'll think it sounds better more power to you but its the exact same sound processing system with/without steam audio--steam audio is a module that filters these sounds a 2nd time in an attempt to make it improved.
