There's two reasons

1. To keep the game fresh. To a lot of people, the game gets really stale when everyone's running around with high-end gear, and it makes it really tough for new players to start out. Little Timmy can't kill Altyn-Slick-MetaHK boy with an SKS with 10 rounds of PS.
2. So the developers can test out new major content, or major changes to how the game flows. The 12.6 wipe (the last one) changed up a bunch of quests, and changed the flea market so that only items that are FIR can be sold.

You also will drop your mag when you reload, if there's no space for it in your pockets or rig

so if your'e using 2x1 AK mags, and you do not have a 2x1 open in your chest rig, and then you reload

they dont spawn much on the outskirts of maps, and they dont spawn a lot at the very beginniong of the raid

they spawn as the raid goes on

So if you hear/see movement in the first couple of minutes, chances are it's players

@zenith loom I think checking prices in raid when you are new is hopeless, it takes too long and theres too much variety. Easier to just bring out 1 of everything and see what it sells for. A half decent thumb rule is that purple background item is better, but its far from true.

For locating your spawn, a 3D map is a little easier to orient yourself with, start by checking what's behind you if you started at a map edge, the different curves and ridges in map edges are usually pretty distinctive. After that you can look for large landmarks like electricity towers or big buildings

Actually thinking about all the Bush spawns, it's probably better to move around until you see a big building, then find the building on the map, then figure out where you spawned from there.

Some maps make this harder than others, of course. But generally if you're able to figure out where you've spawned, your extracts will be on the opposite side of the map

The ZB-101 and 102 extracts are really close to each other and quite easy to find if you know the area they're in

Be wary that some extracts have special conditions though.

Lemme explain this another way:

If you go into raid with nothing to lose and you die, your risk was zero and your loss was zero.

If you go into a raid with gear and you die, your risk was proportionate to the value and so was the loss.

If you go into a raid and you loot gear, the risk becomes proportionate to the value because losing the gear is still losing value. Your stash loss from that raid is zero, but your profit is also zero.

Let's pretend you're a salesman. You have a customer come in and you convince them to spend $2000 on X, Y and Z items. You take them to the counter and start ringing up the sale, then you accidentally sneeze in their face (no idea why that's the first idea that came to mind). They are offended and walk away. You lost nothing except the potential $2000 sale, but that's still $2000 you lost out on attaining.

Blue stims are nice to get there faster, but ultimately a good spawn beats that any day. I have max endurance and can run from those 3 northern spawns to resort in 1 bar. Can't compete against a gear player that rushed to the roof and just entrance camps while his boys loot.

Most new players miss shots. Pretty unforgiving to have a 5 round mag.

what i have learned from pretty much every single other fps i have played is that when I'm getting shot at, i should just run for cover. however i have noticed that a lot of people who make tarkov videos will just stay out in the open and try their best to return fire. is that the proper way to handle getting shot at or no?
